Channel 11 Loses Weekend Anchor

Former KATV Anchor/Arkansas Native Coming Home
Arkansas Business.com reports former KATV anchor Chris May is heading back to the station as anchor. The announcement comes as KATV/Channel 7/Little Rock has been without a co-anchor for its evening newscasts since Scott Inman's departure in March.
May left Little Rock in 1998 to become anchor in Boston then in Philadelphia. KATV News Director Nick Genty told AB.com, "We're still working on exactly what Chris will be doing, but anchor is
his obvious strength," Genty said. "I can say that we're very excited to
have him back."
His first day on air will be August 1st.

Little Rock Stations Add New Faces
TV Spy reports a couple of Little Rock stations have made new hires.
KTHV/Channel 11/Little Rock has hired Raven Richard as a weather anchor for its noon newscast. She will also anchor the Saturday morning news. Raven grew up in Little Rock and interned twice at KATV/Channel 7.
KARK/KLRT/Channel 4/Channel 16/Little Rock has Caitlin Rearden as a reporter. Reardon comes to Little Rock from Spokane, Washington.
Sheriff Calls Out Shreveport Station for Being "Deceitful and Totally Biased"
KSLA/Channel 12/Shreveport was recently called out by a Louisiana Sheriff for not reporting all the facts in a story and making the story look like it was racially motivated. TV Spy reports the sheriff held a news conference informing KSLA the report of a 17 year-old black male was “deceitful and totally biased.” The mother of the 17 year old told the station the charges were racially motivated. What the station failed to report was a 16 year old was arrested of the same crime. The station had this to say about the situation:
“The sheriff is entitled to say what he wants,” KSLA news director Jayne Rubin told ABC affiliate KTBS. Rubin said the station added new information to the story after she learned of the situation.
“We regularly hold public officials accountable. But we must also hold ourselves accountable,” KSLA Joe Sciortino told viewers
in an on-air editorial. “After looking into the story, our correction
and follow up should have come sooner and been more transparent
Northwest Arkansas Reporter Going to Tulsa

KFSM TV 5 reporter Amy Slanchik is leaving for a similar position with KOTV, the CBS affiliate in Tulsa, OK.
She has been at KFSM in Fort Smith since August 2014.
Little Rock Reporter Heading to Northwest Arkansas
KARK/KLRT reporter Hiliary Hunt is leaving Little Rock and heading to the Nexstar stations in Northwest Arkansas. Arkansas Online reports Hunt will become a news anchor at Nexstar stations KNWA/KFTA. Her last day on the air in Little Rock will be May 27th.
