CBS This Morning to get Re-branded

 

CBS is once again making changes to its weekday morning news program.  The Wrap reports CBS will be rebranding its morning news program to CBS Mornings.  Of course like all other relaunches it will feature a new studio and new anchors/hosts.  The new studio is in Times Square and will feature Nate Burleson, Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil.  The rebranding is to capture some of the success the network's flagship Sunday morning news CBS Sunday Morning.  The new program begins next week!

LR-PD Spokesman Confronts KLRT Anchor During Interview

The saying is video doesn't lie...and it doesn't lie in this case either.  The Arkansas Democrat/Gazette obtained video of Little Rock Police Department spokesperson Mark Edwards confronting KLRT/Channel 16/Little Rock anchor Kevin Kelly.  When the subject of recent knife attacks came up during the interview, civilian LR-PD spokesperson Mark Edwards objected.  In the video Edwards is quoted as saying "Before we came here, I told you, we are not talking about that. And wait, wait, wait, wait," Edwards adds, as Kelly appears ready to interject. "Just so your people know, part of the problem I have with KARK and Fox, is you sensationalize --" More confrontation perused.......and Edwards was issued
"documented counseling" after the incident because a supervisor deemed Edwards' actions unprofessional, according to the article.

 

 

 Edwards is a former sports anchor/reporter for KTHV, Channel 11 and also worked as an anchor at Waypoint Media's Little Rock news hub.

Former Shreveport Anchor/Well Known Country Music Exec Passes Away

 

 

A former KTAL/Channel 6/Shreveport anchor reporter has passed away. Lisa Lee, (Lisa Young) passed away Saturday.  Lee (Young) was a senior VP of creative and content for the Academy of Country Music and a former reporter/anchor for KTAL in Shreveport.  Lee was known on air as Lisa Young back in the late 80's and early 90's when she was reporter and anchor for the station.  She moved on working for several country music related industry names, winding up working for the Academy of Country Music.  

KTAL Loses Texarkana Reporter/Anchor-- New Reporter/Anchor Named

 

 KTAL/Channel 6/Shreveport lost its Texarkana anchor/reporter earlier this month.  Heather Wright Deaton had been KTAL's anchor/reporter for the Texarkana area for the last four years.  She anchored the Texarkana First News weeknights at 5:30 on KSHV 45.  Wright is the new public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation...

 

Meanwhile, Alexandra Meachum has been named the new anchor/reporter for the Texarkana Bureau.

Here Comes KTHV's New Wake Up Team

 

 

 
Seems Monday August 16 could be the day the new morning team debuts on KTHV, Channel 11.  It was announced earlier this month Hayden Balgavy would be joining Amanda Jaeger and Meteorologist Skot Covert on Wake Up Central, Channel 11's news show.  Balgavy has worked at KTHV since 2013 in various departments.

KTHV Hires New Sports Anchor

 

KFSM/Channel 5/Fort Smith Sports reporter Tyler Cass is jumping ship!  Cass announced on his facebook page he will be joining KTHV Channel 11 in Little Rock as Sports Anchor.  Tonight is Cass' last night on the air at KFSM

KFSM Hires New Chief Met

  

KFSM Channel 5/Fort Smith announced Tuesday Matt Standridge has been hired as the new Chief Meteorologist. Standridge is no stranger to KFSM, as he worked at the station from 2017 until 2020 when he was promoted to TEGNA sister station WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio.  Standridge replaces Garrett Lewis who retired after 20 years at KFSM, Standridge's will begin on air September 6th.

New Addition TO Channel 11 Morning Team

 

 KTHV, Channel 11/Little Rock has announced that Hayden Balgavy will be joining the station's morning team.  Balgavy has been with KTHV since he was an intern in 2012.  Balgavy has been a sports anchor, producer, and multimedia journalist since 2013.  Balgavy joins the morning team currently consisting of Amanda Jaeger and Meteorologist Skot Covert.
