No More Fox News AM on KMSS

This from a tipster: Not that anyone noticed but KMSS Fox 33 in Shreveport has taken their morning newscast off the air and replaced it with Montel. Word has it that the Fox News Louisiana AM which debuted on Aug 20, 2007... wasn't showing in the ratings at all. The morning program was produced either in Tyler or Lafayette and sent via fiber to Shreveport and had some local news stories inserted. Some of the problems that the show faced early on was out-of-sync audio, poor video quality ( due to fiber transmission ) and lackluster anchors.

Layoffs Hit Shreveport

This from a tipster: KSLA-TV, the local CBS affiliate, has laid off four full-time and two part-time employees, including three news personalities. Weekend sports anchor Bob Griffin, meteorologist Ed Duranczyk and reporter Katrina Webber are no longer with the station. KSLA General Manager James Smith said the layoffs were part of a companywide initiative. KSLA is owned by Raycom Media. "We still have over 90 people working here," Smith said. "Our whole goal here is to preserve jobs. The good thing about KSLA is that we are No. 1 in the market. Being No. 1 means that we can weather the storm best."

Layoffs in Jonesboro

This from a tipster: KAIT just laid off 9 people this morning, including assignment editor Randy Myers and reporter Crystal Whitman. Others include camera operators, control operators and sales people.
