Search Still On for KTHV Weekend Anchor
The search continues for a new anchor of the weekend news at KTHV. KTHV General Manager Larry Audas tells Arkansas TV News, "News Director Mark Raines has a number of good candidates in the newsroom and is reviewing their work this summer." So it looks as though the anchor-go-round weekends will continue.

Michele Rup should get the job because she is intelgent and easy on the eyes.
I wonder if Tammy Fae Baker...er I mean Allison Courtney will have a shot at the job since her husband is weekend sports anchor
She is filling in on Sunday
So who was the chick on Sunday night? Don't remember seeing her as a reporter before........
Maybe they could do an American Idol type of audition.

Amen-I have always thought all that makeup would crack and fall off when she spoke. In my only encounter with her, she seemed exceptionally high on herself. If that woman was only half as hot as SHE seems to think she is, she would spontaneously burst into flames. She must buy that makeup at Dillards which would explain their recent surge in sales!!
Hire Paul Suskie's wife--what a hottie. If he had put her in his ads, he would've won.
what's up with Allison Courtney's hair? i mean seriously...

Michelle, give it up! I talked to you nearly 3 years ago and you were talking about LR being a stepping stone and how you couldn't wait to get to network. Guess what...you're still here, and you're only a fill-in at he anchor desk! Message- you're not as good as you think you are, and you're certainly not a hottie!
I want something done about that Allison girl's hair! Why doesn't somebody at Channel 11 send her somewhere or bring someone in to fix it??? It's horrible! And the makeup and hair are all the same color -- beige! Lips and everything! Yikes!
talk about hair...how long as Ann Jansen had that do? I will say it is timeless at best!
Forget Anne--but they gotta do something about that Allison Courtney. She's probably not bad looking but with all that makeup, we'll never know. Tell her to sandblast some of it off and let us see what she really looks like. Perhaps a new hairdresser might be in order as well. I'll bet that almost everyone at KTHV reads this. Somebody should tell her to read this thread.
And thank goodness for this new thread. This blog was getting terribly boring and it's so much more fun when things are lively here.
Nice to hear from you Wes Moore.
Nope.
Nice to hear from you, Allison?
Since we are talking about look here and not ability I will submit to you this.
I think Allison Courtney is a beautifal woman, I would however like to see some contrast between lip coloring and make up color. As a woman with degenerative hearing loss I find myself reading lips more and more since my family does not appreciate the volume of the TV set so high. The same should be said about Roybn in the morning, the bronze beauty need "lips" so I can see what she is saying.
Thanks a THV viewer
Nice to hear from you, Allison?
Funny, but no.
By the way Win goes to court on Monday; will 11 cover it?

Is it better to be too made up or fat?
Probably depends whether you make your living in front of a TV camera or as a fitness instructor....
Should it be acceptable to be fat if you are on camera?
If you a pet of the ND, the answer is yes. However, if your are making a six figure salary, male and don't play well with others in the newsroom, then....
If an anchor can be fat, then as an anchor you also have the right to have a beard, go bald, wear a tatoo... etc, etc.
Pearson's been fat for years and making six figures since day one. Why, when KTHV is finally taking over, is he getting hit by co-workers?
Sounds like some ego's are a little sensitive. But, that's always been KTHV's rap.
Let Stephanie Bryant do the job for weekend anchor i think she will do good with her tempest bledsoe good looks!
Right, Pearson's been teetering on being overweight for years. Plus he's an assett in the newsroom. Most of the producers are young and don't have the experience or knoweledge of the business that Andy has. They should listen to Andy and do what he says. Just because he's a little overweight doesn't mean he can't do the job properly.
Amen. Pearson has more news savvy in his "overweight" pinky than most any producer in that newsroom.
IMHO he and Anne are the two most credible anchors in the market - hence the steady climb of THV.
Is it ok for female anchors to be fat too?
The better question is it OK for rude bloggers sitting behing a computer posting stupid crap to be fat?
If you sit around and blog all day then you probably are fat. I just think that physical fitness is important to good health. I like people who look healthy. The question about if it's ok to be overweight if you are on camera, it's a matter of opinion. I think things have changed and it is more acceptable to be overweight than it used to be. The country as a whole is also more overweight than it used to be. I personally am not in the public eye, and I do make a huge effort to stay slim. If I were in the public eye, I would REALLY make an effort. But for some people, it's not a priority, and that's ok too.
How do you know those people on TV you call "fat" are not healthy. Just because someone is not a buck 'o 5 does not mean they are fat.
I get SICK of everyone needing to be rail thin to be considered healthy or pretty.
Well, have you ever known of someone who is considered over-weight or obeese to get a clean bill of health from a doctor? -
"Well you're overweight by 30 pounds but your cholesterol, triglcyerides (SP?) and lipids are just fine."
Ask a health professional what they think. Is it possible to be overweight and be healthy? (Let's not use FAT to describe someone who is overweight, it's a little rude.)
Also, in TV, your appearance does matter. If this rubs some folks the wrong way that are on-air, then this topic hit's close to home. Instead of "stop making fun of me", do something about it, like a healthier diet and lifestyle. We all struggle with our weight, some more than others.
For the record I was the one who made the fat and healthy comment.
I am NOT in TV and I would be considered skinny. I work out 5 times a week and eat right.
My point is it IRRITATES the heck out of me that people are so caught up in a certain weight. That is all I was saying. I was not talking about someone who is obese, but someone, especially woman, who is not 110 is considered fat and unhealthy.
People think you have to be Joan Early weight to be on camera and it should not be that way.
For the record I think Joan is beautiful and that was in NO WAY a knock against her. She is a wonderful person.
Unfortunately, we live in a superficial world where, yes, in order to be considered very attractive, you can't be overweight. It doesn't mean rail thin, but it does mean not chubby or overweight. I believe most viewers would rather watch people who are not overweight, but that's just an opinion, and I could be wrong. I agree that if these comments make you so mad, maybe you struggle with this issue. Do something about it.
