KNWA's Hi Def Not So 'Hi'
A Northwest Arkansas TV viewer says, "KNWA has a new digital channel on the cable up here and they are supposed to be broadcasting in High-Definition. However the cable channel is broadcasting a regular 4:3 tv image stretched out to fit a 16:9 frame. basically, its not high def and all the people look fat because they are stretched out horizontally. their anchors look bad enough on regular tv and now they all look bloated in "HD""

I know that there analog singal isn't worth a damn. I was watching the golf game, talk about Lyp-sync problems, and then video drop-out and going to black. Its like watching UPN or FOX!!!
if you look at their web page, you'll see that the full HD switchover isn't due until July 28th...
I'd wait until then to make any conclusions...
and as far as the audio-sync problems, it was annoying but was only for a few days and they were aware of it and had to switch vendors to get it fixed...
i'm a cable user in the river valley. why do i hear rock music when i watch channel 5?

KNWA's sync problems haven't been fixed as of last night (6-21-06) at least in the River Valley. When I was trying to watch Jay Leno, it was still at least 10 seconds off and the picture kept dropping out and freezing up. By the way, 40/29 has had digital Hi-Def for at least 3 years now and KFSM nearly as long.
they're fixed in NWA...
KNWA has had audio problems in FSM for weeks now....
last night, 6-22-06, no audio at all in the river valley at least. this is gone beyond the usual technical problems everyone has once in awhile and is beginnin to smell like apathy fed incompetence
the regular channel in nwa is fixed, the HD channel up here still has those lips not matching the words problem. at least they are in real HD now and not faux HD.
And they want Kfta to have Fox also?? Next on american out of sync idol.... and i hear Equity Does't want the CW..where will we watch everybody hates chris???
They're still out of sync in the river valley, (as of last night- 6/26/06). It's like watching a badly dubbed Japanese or Italian movie.

**Garrett had his Hanson CD playing in the weather center again. Took engineering a while to figure it out.
wow... the sync is again off in NWA and it is several times worse than before...
