There is a true sign sweeps are over..and that's when everybody starts disappearing. Anchors...reporters....and oh year producers. A tipster tells us the morning show producer at KATV is leaving.....

Are you referring to Diana? When she was just subbing for the regular AM producer years ago and I was scheduled to appear on GMA by the regular producer, she was rude, condescending and arrogant! If this is her we are speaking of, GOOD RIDDANCE!
Please put Craig on the morning show & make Ashley the 10 pm anchort. Then, bring Wess back!!! KTHV is becoming a bad joke quickly!!!
If you think the 10 pm ratings are bad now, they completely tank if Ashley moved there. She's too unpolished and her voice isnt right to be anchoring. Sounds like nails on a chalkboard in the mornings.

Advertisers and viewers do NOT care about the producers leaving. Anchors leaving...now that is a different story.

All the daybreak producers are a joy to work with, but I don't like going on GMA. She is not openly rude to me, but I see and hear how Diana treats the people around her. I'm embarrassed for them.
Oh please don't take her seriously. We don't. She is all bark and has no real power. I know "PRODUCER" sounds like a fancy title, but she's just a peon like the rest of us.
It's true she doesn't have any power, but her guests don't get paid to put up with her attitude. I wish with all my heart she would move on.
Changes wish list starts with the KTHV weekend crew + Liz, KATV Saturday Daybreak Crew less Yakoubian but throwing in Roger & Justin, weekend crew @ KLRT less Dudzik, as far as KARK don't make Jessica cut her hair & if she does give it to Mosler...

Jessica is homely and has an irritating tone to her voice. I enjoy watching Bob though. KARK needs a new lady in the evenings. I don't imagine they'll hold on to Jessica too much longer.

8:11, no they are not floor directors. News producers are basically in charge of writing the anchors' scripts, ordering the stories, and timing the show.
It's an odd title since you are correct that they don't "produce" anything. But it could also be noted that most of them make only around $25 grand a year - so it could be management throwing them a bone for lack of pay.
It's been a few years since I have been in the business, but I am fairly confident this is still the case in the Little Rock market. I didn't want to leave town, but I just couldn't take asking the parents for financial help anymore. The "still paying my dues" excuse was getting old. Perhaps they all make a livable salary now, but I doubt it.
No we don't and that is why many of us have either moved on to larger markets, or gotten out of the business to make more money.
Did Jess ask for permission to get her hair cut in such a terrible style? I question her judgement as well A's her bosses because it is distracting and so chopped up and layered. Bad decision Jess!!!!!

Agreed. Leave if you aren't an anchor. You don't deserve to be treated and paid like that. The people who offered that money would never ever live on it themselves.
Seriously, the only tough part is swallowing your pride about going to school for this and it turning out to be a bad choice after all. But when you are making twice as much with holidays off, you'll laugh at the poor sucker writing the anchor's scripts while she takes a 3 hour lunch break.

Our anchor doesn't take a "lunch break" because she doesn't get in until after lunch.
Ours keep their "dinner breaks" to only about 2 and a half hours. I guess we should call that winning!
"Producer" Barry is leaving too. Both of the morning producers quit because of money.
Good for them. It isn't like the anchor team couldn't produce that show by themselves. Word is they only work 5 hour shifts on a bad day.
Chris or Alyson work? Ha! They both think they are tv stars too good to do anything but show up on set and read the prompter.
What's worse than Chris & Allyson being TV stars is that it was mentioned on TSWNN by Bazzel that the still lovely & hot Beth Hunt wanted a talent fee just to appear at the annual Christmas Karaoke event she has participated in for years...
She used to get paid to read the news for the buzz. Now the other anchors read it for free.

Bazzel inferred on air that Beth was the only talent from KATV requesting one to participate in this annual charity event, the others were not.
It's not like they are going to start paying producers more because two people left. Producers are a luxury not a necessity. It's not uncommon at many stations that anchors produce the show. They are nowhere near that point so things will be fine.
Are the local evening newscasts rehearsed?
