Former Little Rock News Director Lands in Missouri
Arkansas Business.com reports former KTHV News Director Chuck Maulden has landed a the news director job at KOLR, Channel 10 in Springfield, MO.

I met KARK management was kicking some butt to get the station back on the air at the last minute. Someone needs to fix that thing.

Where was KARK last night? No numbers, failed live shots, phoners? Really. Big night, big fail.
I loved the lighting of THV news room. It look like Craig was sitting on a desk. When will they get someone in that can light that place. KATV election set with all signs looked like a college set. Just awful. KARK had 5 white guys on set at once sitting in high chairs. KLRT came to their set.
KARK was off the air during their 5:00 news. They may as well have stayed off the air. Their coverage was awful.

I didn't make the comment but the point of the "five white guys" comment is that at least in central Arkansas it make sense to have a diverse panel of political experts. Even if the five white guys had diverse political point of views it wouldn't hurt to be a little more representative of the races and genders of ALL the viewers in the metro. I didn't take this as a racist statement at all.
I made the comment about 5 white guys and no it wasn't racist at all. I did mean there needs to be more diverse panels on the news in central Arkansas. The panel looked like it was 1970.

I am 8:24. I enjoy listening to smart, articulate, charismatic people of all races and genders even if I don't agree with their politics (as long as they're not ass holes). I would select a diverse panel if I could.
And yes, white guys are easy to pick on.

I would rather watch a show full of white men. White men are on average more articulate and smarter. I've not seen one show where the black guy did not favor Obama. Sorry but if I know what your vote is before you speak, I do not crave your analysis.

Larry was a typical GM. Chuck was a good News Director but couldn't stand up to the Executive Producer.
THV needs to clean house with ALL managers.
They have a good group of Anchors but a Captain is needed aboard that ship.
THV does need to clean out all managers and anchors. There is not one strong anchor at the place. They need an anchor to step up and be a leader in the newsroom and they are all to busy with other things to do it.
11:14 you have no clue what you're talking about. THV has a a few strong anchors (both morning and evening) and are the least of THV's problems. Power hungry managers and green reporters are the downfall at 11.
