Smoking hot!

But not very good as a television reporter.
Of all the green talent at THV, I thought she would get better.

Speaking of THV, what happened w/ Meredith Mitchell?

At 9:26 PM, October 30, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't remember this person.

I also missed Darby Bybee (sp?) leaving from KARK. What happened there? Also they shut down local sports it looks like. True?

At 11:54 AM, October 31, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

KARK just has one guy doing sports in central arkansas. Their high school and other college coverage is now pathetic.

At 12:21 PM, October 31, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

When 4 says "Local news that matters" that all they mean. Forget that high school sports is what helps to pull small and even larger communities together.

But remember 11 only has one sports guy as well and he doesn't even do sports every night. They pre tape his sports segments or they had the late Matt Turner or Craig doing sports.

I am not the biggest 7 fan. However they do a good job providing cover of the high school and some college sports and it has been this way for several years.

At 2:03 AM, November 01, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

KARK said they let Bybee go to pursue a different direction. If Steve Adamson is that direction, it has me wondering.

At 5:48 AM, November 01, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who is Steve Adamson?

KTHV and KARK are horribly managed.

They get what they deserve - a major butt-whuppin by KATV.

Meredith Mitchell is still on the THV website. Not sure what the previous poster (7:58 PM, October 30, 2012) is mentioning.

Meredith was on her honeymoon last week. Saw her back on the air last night.

KTHV 11 and KARK 4 make it very easy for Channel 7.

Who in Tarnation cares?

At 8:51 PM, November 01, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Don't know who's leading THV, but Fox smoked them today on the escapee and airport evacuation. Fox shouldn't be shutting the door. That one should be shut at 8th and Izard.

Can someone tell Alyson Courtney to please STOP screaming on TV. She and Chris Kane are quickly getting on my nerves. Learn proper English people. Its not a hard G on Hangars Cleaners blondie.

At 11:18 PM, November 02, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

it is a hard G when you pronounce Hangers. If it was a soft G it would be pronounced like a J....like "register". Or HanJers. Yeah they yell and it's annoying but so are petty douchebags who like to correct everyone else. I'd like to see you read the news for a living Hard Gee.

At 7:54 AM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Alyson screamed at THV too, but she's still on tv with pretty good ratings so maybe she has it right.

At 8:46 AM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well since we are talking about 7 people, maybe someone should tell the redhead if she is going to compromise her news credibility by pimping fashion on the Saturday morning show, she might want to bring her own wardrobe up to date.

At 9:56 AM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Compromise news credibility? Come on people......seriously?

At 9:57 AM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Another petty douchebag here who thinks the first petty douchebag is right and who thinks the second petty douchebag who thinks its rocket science.to read off a teleprompter is also a petty douchebag dolt. I'm sure you'll have to look that one up. Its not okay to say Hangars exactly like Forest Gumption would say it. Screaming at your audience and not having a few basics of the language down is not a big thing to correct.

Also ratingsndo not convey quality. Its like saying mcdonalds is quality cuisine because they sell a billion a year.

At 11:41 AM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Speaking of basic language skills....do you wanna try and explain that first sentence. Ratings might not convey quality in your mind but they do convey one thing. More people are watching KATV than any other station. I know it's hard to comprehend that more people watch KATV than you because you think that your product is superior but maybe you're wrong about your product. People left your station to watch channel 7. There is a reason they did and until you figure it out your never going to stand a chance. McDonald's sells a "billion a year" for one reason, they figured out what people want.

At 11:44 AM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes it is a complete compromise. Reading the news in one breath and then selling pants and handbags in the next is hardly credible. Maybe she could ditch the 7 pin and wear a Verizon logo instead. At least that would be honest.

At 1:29 PM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

verizon sells pants?

At 1:45 PM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Good Morning Arkansas is no better, but at least they don't have a news segment for the conflict of interest. But with all the legit weather segments and "credible" news people hosting it, I doubt the veiwers can tell the difference. Either way, katv has a long and storied history of selling their soul, "the redhead" is just latest news personality to fall victim to this practice.

At 2:04 PM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Speaking of Verizon, find a station in the country that didn't have them on to talk about the iPhone 5 latest features and previewing the product release. That's not news, just a product of interest to many. Double standard maybe?

At 2:13 PM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's true what she does (or is forced to do?) is not ok by j-school 101 standards, but I guess as long as she never has to cover a story about the Bag and Pants store she won't be in too much hot water.

At 5:20 PM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm not sure if Verizon sells pants, but Middleton might. Why don't ya'll see if Ned would fit in a pair.

At 7:08 PM, November 03, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's been a while since you guys have had a chance to go into full meltdown mode on here. The blogger needs to post more often, it's so fun to watch. Jealousy is a bitter pill my friends.

Roll Tide!
Roll KATV!

At 5:23 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm not jealous. I wouldn't hock shoes and belts under the illusion of journalism. That would violate my ethics as a journalist. I feel sorry for your people that do it. Hopefully they can sleep at night.

At 6:02 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Cute attempt at a comeback KATV, but you are guilty as charged. Take it like a man. Or in this case, a woman.

At 7:22 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

KATV has always sold their newscast time. This is not new. As a matter of fact, they have segments in their evening newscasts that are nothing more than commercials for local hospitals. (They call them medchecks and healthchecks and so forth). And yes they disguise it as a news story, but it is bought and paid for.

So they may be more blatantly doing it on Saturday morning and on Good Morning Arkansas, but they are sneakier about it later in the day.

At 8:30 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Come down from your ivory tower and stop pretending that you don't do it as well. Every station does the same thing. Your just jealous that you haven't been asked to do it.

At 9:55 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Someone asked about Meredith Mitchell, I believe she's been busy getting in her winter's supply of corn.

At 10:08 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Nope. Never sold boots and handbags whilst pretending to do the news. You can tell yourself whatever you want to ease your mind, but not everybody is doing it.

At 10:53 AM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow it was Sat Daybreak! I didn't see it but I'm assuming she wasn't reading news at the same moment she was conducting a fashion interview. Every morning show does segments that come off like commercials. KARK was live for 2hrs at Panera the other day hocking their grand opening. Sounds like a commercial to me. THV does the same evening sales-driven spots. "Prescription Arkansas" is one. Everyone does the same stuff. It's not gunna change

At 6:05 PM, November 04, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Exactly.

At 7:14 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You can tell yourself it's not wrong. You can tell yourself everyone does it. But it is wrong. Shame on you.

At 8:05 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

And you can tell yourself that you don't do it. You can tell yourself that you have higher integrity. But you're wrong. You're an idiot.

At 8:25 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Every morning show in the world has news readers do that. They are interviewing guests who are promoting a product. Watch any morning show, even networks, it's done everywhere. To say hat it's not or that you have too much journalistic integrity to do it is laughable and shows the kind of thinkIng that keeps a station in third place.

At 8:43 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

OH MY GOD!!!!!! MATT LAUER JUST ATE A GRILLED CHEESE THAT A PROFESSIONAL CHEF MADE ON HIS MORNING SHOW!!!!! SAVANNAH GUTHRIE HELPED MAKE IT!!!!!! I CAN NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN. THE HORROR!!!!!!

At 8:47 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Has THV hired a news director yet?

At 9:13 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I feel bad for the poor handbag and boot store owner that has to have the fat redhead promote her products. Stephanie Simone was a much hotter spokesmodel.

At 9:33 AM, November 05, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

And jealousy rears its ugly head again. At least when someone goes on channel 7 to promote something people actually see it as opposed to your station.

Just turn the yell-a-vision down more & more. Every morning show & the commercials just keeps getting louder & louder.

Do the do the Closed Captioning in all caps?

Not a moment too soon. Billy Mays would roll over in his grave if he knew that.

Leave poor Billy Mays alone. The only reason he yelled during his infomercials was to drown out the cocaine induced ringing in his ears.

My buddy said the Subway commercial where the woman acapella sings "sweet onion chicken teriyaki" is the most annoying commercial ever. I then reminded him of the fat loss center. He was forced to agree.

No one comments on election coverage? All were bad, bad, bad. Green reporters who didn't know anything below the surface--besides jason Pederson covering the pot issue.

Channel four with screaming Jessica and suave Bob and the committee of nerds providing bad commentary. Made me laugh out loud.

KTHV with Dawn wearing a Barney outfit with what looked like a pink lei. Aloha meas goodbye...

Sorry--didn't watch fox because I'm not sure I should get attached.

to have four years to prepare and the bigget shift in Arkansas politics since 1874, a pitiful effort across the board.

At 12:35 PM, November 09, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Local & national election coverage is a joke. Every station has different results. It is just filler until a candidate concedes.

You should have watched Fox News for the comedy. Karl Rove got his panties in a wad because Fox had to declare Obama the winner. He lost millions of PAC $ on that one & just couldn't accept it. Lots of sad faces on that unbiased channel.

The election was a joke. Give me a free cell phone and I am so lazy that I need food stamps and I will vote for you. That is what did it and a promise not to send "illegal" aliens back to where they come from and belong. If you believe otherwise, you need help. This country is going to Hell with the help of Liberals and their way of thinking.

Oh, yeah. I never heard of Lauren Clark.

I am truly scared for the next for years. America as we know it is over. But it may take getting to that point before the welfare recipients finally understand.

At 7:46 PM, November 11, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I loves me some Meredith Mitchell.

You people are just too mean.

At 6:43 AM, November 12, 2012, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Funny-- there are now dozens of welfare recipients in TV because the stations are so cheap.

Tell me please how Kelly Dudzick could cover politics when she makes all those tea-party comments on the radio?

Oh yeah, and 10:03, be glad America wasn't thinking in such a primitive way when your grandparents came over from whatever country they came from.

And 9:12, you just continue being scared honey, and the rest of us will conttinue living the American dream.

Whoever thinks it was easy for any immigrants who weren't the original colonists is just silly.

The Irish suffered much worse persecution than any Mexican has gotten in this country of late. And to get their citizenship, many joined the army.

Get your facts straight.
