Changes on the Way Weekday Mornings on KARK
With the expansion of NBC's Today Show, comes expanded news offerings from KARK. Arkansas Business.com reports KARK will move Arkansas Showcase, which currently airs at 10am Friday's, to 11:30am and the program will air weekly following 4's 11am newscast. ALSO KARK will partner with KNWA to make its noon newscast a "most statewide" newscast. NBC's Today starts airing until 11am on September 10....Arkansas Showcase begins its Monday thought Friday run on September 24th.

Man, that's good news. Now we will hear about shootings, vehicle wrecks, and other tragic stories from that area of the state too.

Yep. Nexstar will kill local news in Arkansas, deader than a doornail. Now they'll have an excuse to fire most of the staff in Fayetteville.
they are not firing anyone. nexstar is just covering all of arkansas in a unique way. remember, knwa does the sports for kark, so firing people really wouldn't work. let's not be stupid.
I thought KARK hung their hat on LOCAL news...How is a combined newscast with Fayetteville...WHAT???...considered local news? Just when you think they finally figured out a few things....back to the same ridiculous decision making....
Local is wherever the news happens... do you think LR stations are just supposed to cover what happens in Little Rock ?
To 1:29 Comment: "Local" is NOT WHEREVER the news happens...Local means Local! In the viewing area! Not Statewide, Not Regional, Not National...but LOCAL! Plus...KARK is moving Noon news to 11 am? I thought KARK won there very strongly. Too much competition from the revamped KTHV? Why would KARK mess with a winning formula?
As long as Melissa Simas has her air time and I can look at her, I don't care!!!
If the whispers are true about Robyn at KTHV, then KARK should do well and may pass KATV and THV within a year. They need to keep the team together to be able to do that. Melissa could go somewhere else and be successful, while Matt and Mike can make an impact here.
KARK will still do a noon show. By the way, KARK is hiring more people, not firing them.

KNWA may do all the sports for KARK but KARK does all of KNWA's switching from Little Rock. (saves money and manpower)I just hope that KARK masters their new UHF/digital transmitter before the end of analog transmissions.

I still think if Tom left the morning show it would suffer more than losing Robyn. A LOT of people can't stand her!!!
Are you sure it's Robyn leaving? I heard another certain THV morning show anchor is leaving. Are they losing 2?
I hate to see their team broken up. Enjoy all three of them in the mornings. Hopefully, it's all just speculation.

There are a few too many Little Rock snobs in here.. who think that anything that happens outside of LR is not local news. That's just arrogant.
