"Today’s THV at Noon" Set to Return September 10 With Major Changes
KTHV, Channel 11 has announced the return and changes to its noon newscast, Today's THV at Noon. The station says the newscast will return September 10 with Stefanie Bryant joining Tom Brannon at the anchor desk. The newscast will be a full half hour as Positively Arkansas is moving to 9:30 a.m.THV GM Larry Audas says additional changes will also be seen as the noon time newscasts returns to the airwaves, “We will simulcast ‘Today’s THV at Noon’ in its entirety live on the World Wide Web with the newscast taking a featured position on todaysthv.com.” “We want to not only deliver news to folks at home, but to the many people on the job or at the office who will want to take a few minutes at noon to watch a live newscast on their computers.”

It will take a lot more than that to make a dent in KARK's dominance at noon. Larry should concentrate his efforts on not losing more ground to 7 and 4 in more important newscasts.

I caught Stephanie Bryant subbing for BJ on the noon show a few days ago, and I thought she did a really good job as news anchor. I guess Larry the office boob thought so too.

You get caught watching tv on your computer at my office and you will be gone. TV on a computer??? They really are trying to sell everything that they can. After all, sales is the bread and butter of broadcasting and are the children of management. Anything else in a broadcast station is a necessary evil.

KARK's Dominance? Anytime you have to give money away, AKA buying viewers, that means you are not real secure in your news efforts. That's why ANYONE watches KARK at noon... for the chance to win $20.00 on dailing for donkeys. Besides the only thing KARK dominates in at noon is the 50 plus crowd. They have a whopping 2 in P and W 25-54. (according to May 2007 ratings) THV and ATV have a 1 in the same demo. KARK wins at noon, but I wouldn't say they are dominant. They are not doing so well at the main audience numbers at noon. But hey, if they want to go after the 50 plus crowd, more power to you.
THV is not concerned about noon news. They are just going back to a regular newscast as they have in the past. It was logical to have Tom do weather since he does mornings, and Stephanie? Maybe she will reach a new audience.
KARK's crowd is not 50+. Maybe at noon because that is who is watching but the 50+ station in LR is ATV. As far as dominance goes it is still double the rating in the closest demo.
But hey, if they want to go after the 50 plus crowd, more power to you.
I have to tell you that there are more people 50 and over watching television at Noon than any other age. What they are doing is brilliant. Plus, the 50 and over have more money to spend than any other age group. Get the picture? (No pun intended)

There is a major change on the horizon for THVs morning show. Is somebody leaving?
Someone mentioned Audass being the office boob. Is it me, or does anyone else see a connection between the Wizard on Izard and "Michael," the office manager on "The Office"?
a noon newscast will work out great with stephanie. she deserves it.
and i think larry is fine at what he does. i used to not think so, but have since warmed up to him. news isn't an exact science and neither is running a tv station. most of his decisions are gannett geared anyway so it's not like he has a choice. although, i would like to see more accountability around thv.

Once the KTHV morning show falls apart, it will be fun to watch the battle between 4 and 7 for morning glory !!!!
All three of THVs morning anchors are under contracts that don't expire any time soon. But I also heard they all have an "out" under certain terms, so it could be any of them. Regardless of who leaves, the show won't fall apart. One person doesn't carry a show. They all 3 have a big following and have been around forever. I personally think Tom is the most entertaining one, but if he leaves, I would probably still watch.

Contracts only protect the station, not the talent. If Robyn wants to leave, she can. She just can't work in the market for a long time.
If one of them leaves, I certainly hope they have the brains to have a good replacement. THV is not known for a smart decisions lately. I heard it's Tom, and I do think if he leaves, the ratings will suffer.

Tom signed a new deal a couple months back. Didn't get all he wanted, but Raines tried his best to keep him.
Even got a clothing allowance for him. Boy, thats rare these days!

Just because somebody is under contract does not mean they can't leave. The above post is correct, it protects the station. Any of the 3 could leave as long as they don't go to another station in this market.

the producers are awful. they have no idea how to time a show.
Producers in a LR tv station? What do they "produce?"
When will they hire a lighting director or just someone who knows how to light a set?
