Props to them for entering - and winning. IMO many stations don't place enough emphasis on the promotional value of these awards. Congrats KATV.
Anyone notice that KNWA has two openings for video journalists in Fort Smith? They say it will be in their 'new' Fort Smith newsroom.
Forgot to mention...it is for the new Fox station. But it raises this question...if the Fox station will have two FSM reporters does that mean that KNWA will make use of them on the rest of their newscasts at 5, 6, and 10 and will they drop the 'Northwest Arkansas News' bit?

Congrats to KATV, but the general viewer does not give a crap if a station wins a Murrow. They don't have any idea what it is about.
Randy Dixon is obsessed with entering those things. Props to them!
I believe Channel 7 was the only television station in Little Rock to enter the Murrow contest.
Aren't we lucky to work in such a strong market, with 3 great stations? Well... 2 great stations (Sorry THV!)
I will agree with that assessment. Still, the market in general is better than most around the country. I do believe Channels 4 and 7 are the best in the market now.
I still think they KATV needs a good ass whoppin to get better people to work down their to hire people that need job's!
Viewers determine who they think has the best product. Sorry KARK, you're still not a station that actual people watch. KTHV - Number 1 in the Mornings (5 years running) and Number 1 at 10.
OK, OK, so you are number 2 at 5 and 6 pm. But, still no number one anywhere.

Viewer habit takes time to change. But it is clearly changing.
KARK is seeing more growth than any other station. The so-called market leader continues to erode. It's been steadily doing it the past few years. Don't just listen to me. The numbers speak for themselves. Have you seen KATV's demos. They're in the toilet.
