KATV is Tapeless
Arkansas Business.com reports that KATV has converted from using video tape to using tapeless video cameras and computers to edit what was shot. The article does not that, "(“Fox News at Nine” has the same equipment but still shoots with tape." Read the full article HERE.

Better equimpment does not mean a better product!!! If it is good viewers will watch and by the way KATV photographers went to video tape in 1977/78...learn your facts Randy!!! Arkansas Busniness needs to check their facts!!!
Tapeless and Talentless
and clueless:)
I originally read this as topless... this makes for a much less interesting story...

i wouldnt mind seeing that new reporter topless
Talentless and clueless you say, yet still they somehow picked up another Overall Excellence Edward R. Murrow award. And still number one in the market in ratings. They obviously don't know what they are doing ;)
"And still number one in the market in ratings."
You might want to double-check your facts on that one...
Every station is number one in the ratings. Just ask a sales rep.
I wasn't aware Sony was making "Hard Drive" Cameras. They must be using XDCAM which is an optical disc.
XDCams will be history in less then 5 years. Sony must have made them a deal to unload stock.
Tied for last place in the morning.
An experienced photographer can make any kind of camera sing. Enough said.
I think KATV ws the only Little Rock station that entered the Murrow Awards. Oh Well, they still won.

KATV ahs the oldest photogs in the market so that must make them the most experienced. I don't sing any singing video on the old circle 7. I'm told their photogs don't even know how to edit.
Their "tapeless" still looks like analog video to me! A hard drive does not have noise in it!

I was obviously not clear with my post. What I meant was that it doesn't matter how good your camera is if you don't know how to shoot good video. If I had a nickel for every KATV photog I saw with their camera on their shoulder while leaning on their tripod, I'd have a pocket full of nickels :)
I don't think that a new camera can make a bad shooter better. When KARK got new cameras a few years back it certainly did nothing for their on-air product.
