NWA "The No Drama Zone
In watching the 6pm sports segment on KATV I just had to laugh when they dubbed the U of A the "No drama Zone". I think just about everyone now is aware of the stories going around about Houston Nutt and a news reporter from Northwest Arkansas. I wasn't even gonna blog about it BUT found it really wild that the stations would not even mention something that they know Arkansan's are aware of. AND where's a press conference OR statement from Nutt or the U of A?
NOTE: Geez, I meant for the post to read 'Baum Stadium is the No Drama Zone'. Long hours at work are killing me!

Just to be clear i said baum stadium is the "no drama zone"...meaning you ain't gonna find any drama surrounding the baseball program...figured just for a day lets focus on something positive and that's our sixth ranked diamond hogs...

it's been since the eighties since any tv station locally has really done any kind of "real news". Know why? Too much work and the PCers have got everyone running scared. Can't call a spade a spade, no, now it is a garden tool. Get bent folks...the local news stations are just another form of entertainment. Want to learn WHY something happened, forget it. All you get is that it happened and if at all possible who it involved. But that's okay, that's what the viewers want. They don't care abouth the "why's", most of them are too busy studying the images on the pretty screen to worry about petty things like WHY something occured. Sorry, we do get to hear about how the truck driver fell asleep and plowed into the family of four and their goat. But why the kid shot the teller and fled to Cali is not reported. Who cares, right? The viewers want to be entertained. If we could get anchor-mud wrestling with NASCAR music for the background the viewers would be in heaven...hell, I might be in heaven....Munoz and Simas in the mud....Simas in the mud........sorry. Good luck to Donna and her Nutt.

Are the stations afraid that they will make viewers mad at them if they find out the real story of what is going on up there? There are many more people in this state that don't go to or watch Hog games than do.
You said it! This state has a L_O_N_G way to go before it can be respected outside this region and much of what is laughed at is the "cattle" mentality of following along just because that's where the herd is heading. Watch out, however, that herd is periously close to a cliff and the sports nation is watching.
no one wants to talk about it because it will upset the university and lord knows if a station doesn't have their razorback coverage then their ratings are out the window.

Donna does the 10:00 newscast w/Craig Cannon. She's part-time--works for BOST during the day--a non-profit.

Does he or she have a morality clause in the contract? Only a real story if done on UofA or 40/29 time, campus and/or money. Let his wife take care of Houston. I would think she will dish out more PUNISHMENT than anyone if the alledged is true.

Thanks to "The Arkansas Times" for bringing this out into the public . . . at least as public as that publication can get. If only the rest of the "media representatives" had the nerve to ruffle a few swine feathers we'd finally have some real investigative journalism in this state.
