Ditchfield Ditching THV
Arkansas Business.com reports KTHV meteorologist Becky Ditchfield is leaving the station for the morning weather gig at KUSA-TV, Channel 9 in Denver. Ditchfield came to Little Rock in July2004.

It's a damn shame. She's a hottie.
I hate to see her go. Can't blame her though...they work her to death. How much vacation time does Ed get? It seems like he's off every other week. I wish her good luck in Denver!

Do you all remember that promo THV did, when they were working here 18 or something days in a row??? That was the lamest attempt at getting ratings that I've seen.
We might be happy for her, but remember, KUSA is owned by Gannett!

I've noticed as well you've been worked to death but have also noticed along with the long hours always comes a sweet disposition, smile and good outlook.
As a viewer it's nice to watch someone who's always on top of their game and at the same time able to stay very "real.". Top that with your great attitude and what a winning combination! You're going to go far!
Good for you as well for having chosen now to make your move. While you'll be missed greatly, you are smartly excusing yourself from the pettiness and well, seemingly ignorance of THV.
THV has now lost two of their most liked and respected on-air people. I'm only wondering what's next. Run Becky run though! Best of luck!

Wish they'd get rid of Tom Brannon - the LAMEST weather guy on TV. In fact gid rid of him and convince Becky to stay!

The fox on Positively Arkansas has my vote as the top female personality in this market. I like her voice too. When will she be doing the weather?
Tom Brannan is an ok guy. He has a personality, which some of the other weather people don't have. He's down to earth. I congratulate Becky. She should be #1. She has class and is smart as well as pretty. All our best.

As for her work ethic. She has a better work ethic than the so-called leader of the Wx Team, and has done everything that has been asked of her. This is the next step for her - good luck Becky!

sure, Becky will be missed by viewers, HOWEVER.. what real work does she do that can be admired? I am sure everyone would kill to have a 2 day work week. THV makes her do squat.
Well, what about the big KARK reunion that was held somewhere this past weekend.
On Average, Becky only has a 2 day work week, but sometimes she been asked to work over 2 weeks straight and has always been gracious and nice about whatever is asked of her.
But yes, most of the time, she's got it very easy.
C'mon. Show me a job in TV weather that isn't easy.
Becky is a great lady; great family, good work ethic, loves animals and loves baseball. What more could one ask.
I do agree that you should watch Gannett, Becky. It's only a market number to them and they could use and abuse you in Denver more than they did here.

Melissa never was nice. She;s COLD. . But she flirts with Mike the weather guy constantly. They need to go ahead and kiss on air.
I have a friend who works at the KUSA weather department...and lemme tell you. They will work you into the ground. She will get paid quite well (6 figures easily...the chief makes over a million a year) but I hope she is ready to earn every penny of it.
It's a high-pressure business but she will be good.
Denver is where that anchor chick cussed on the air and stormed off the set, right ???????????

Anyone who thinks Hunt and/or Simas are ugly... wow, that person has some vision problems! And also some anger problems. I'm guessing it's some jealous woman who goes about 250 on a good day. And the reason that person is up at 4 in the morning is because they're about to watch the morning shows!
Robyn is prettiest morning anchor. And she is 10 years older. If you can look that good and be 10 years older than the others, you are in good shape.
Robyn does look good... money does that for a woman. Melissa is much pretter, of course. And she did win the Babe Bracket against Robyn!

it amazes me the self-esteem boost the local anchor-people get from the "babe bracket" give me a break --- have a brain and don't participate. of the women i've heard on the buzz soundlike total idiots...way to hurt your credibility. Yes, you are all hot, but have a little self worth and don't subject yourself as a piece of meat. Total turn off and sad really. I hope you can find your self-esteem elsewhere then a bunch of rednecks and co-workers calling in on your behalf. I expected thepeople I watch on local tv to be brighter than that...oh well!
The babe bracket is fine for those who care about that kind of stuff, but why does someone like Anne Jensen care so much about being in it?
I can understand the younger reporter types, but veterans like her? Must be she likes the attention.

Becky is a genuinely nice person who deserves something bigger and better than the Little Rock market - looks like she's getting her chance. Those who put her down are just jealous that they're stuck here. How about being happy to see someone move up the ladder?
To say she does no "real work" makes me laugh. Anyone who's been in the TV business for more than 5 minutes knows that the work load fluctuates as you go up the food chain. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a Meteorologist has more down time that a Reporter or Photographer - generally speaking. I can tell you this - she does A LOT more work than several in the THV newsroom - and I'm not just talking about Anchors.
Congrats Becky - what makes you a hottie is not only your appearance on the outside, but also what you have on the inside. You'll be missed.

it is 2010 and we still miss becky.she was clear, informative,likable,down-to-earth.i didn't know her personnally but my family simply cannot stand meridith mitchell--she is the pits,she can't even say Arkansas without stretd-ching her mouth all out of wack.half her face is teeth.she has a head like a horse-she must have known someone-or kin to someone to get that job. she is an embarassement to arkansas. we miss a class act like Becky
