KAIT GM Named GM of New South Carolina Station

KAIT employees learned today their GM would be heading to South Carolina to head up a new station there. Below is a copy of the e-mail sent to staffers:

I’m pleased to announce that Ted Fortenberry, V.P. General Manager of KAIT-TV, Jonesboro, Arkansas has been appointed V.P. General Manager of soon to be constructed, WMBF-TV, Myrtle Beach/Florence, South Carolina. Before heading KAIT, Ted was its General Sales Manager. Prior to that, he served in various sales management positions at stations in Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, as well as cable sales in New Orleans. Ted started his career in broadcasting at our very own WDAM-TV, Hattiesburg, MS.

Ted has done an outstanding job managing KAIT. We’re confident that his multi-station experience with News, Marketing, and particularly Sales will serve Raycom well in building WMBF into a competitive NBC affiliate in the growing Myrtle Beach/Florence market. WMBF is scheduled to sign on the air summer of 2008. Ted and his family will be moving to Myrtle Beach this summer.

Ted is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, with a BS Degree in Television, Radio and Film. Please joining me in wishing he and his family well in his new endeavor.

How about letting Diana Davis take over as GM? She's been there forever... time to put her "on camera" days out to pasture.

What happened to Lil' Mitch? He was the worst sports anchor I have ever seen but I couldn't change the channel when he was on because it was the funniest thing on tv.

Mitch Lilly is the best person I have ever met. True, he is only 5-1 but he uses all of it to report his little heart out. God Bless you Mitch. You are a genious.

Mitch Lilly is worshipped in some parts of Arkansas.

I heard he was responsible for recruiting Darren McFadden.

He also is well known for saving the lives of many local children who were involved in a school bus accident.

Mitch Lilly found the cure for cancer but the doctors were so stupid when he told them about it that he killed them all with one punch.

Mitch Lilly will be greatly missed at that crappy tv station in the part of the state that nobody cares about.

KAIT is a joke. From the old, wore out Dianna Davis, to the gay-porn star wanna-be Chris Castleman.

The best thing that could ever happen to KAIT would be COMPETITION, but that's not going to happen in such a small market.

Speaking of small, where did Lilly go? Is he Houston Nutt's personal monkey boy? Good riddance.
