Shreveport FOX Affiliate Starting a Local Newscast?
KMSS FOX 33 in Shreveport is advertising for a news reporter and a photographer...could only make one wonder if the station is gonna start up a local newscast. KMSS is owned by Communications Corporation of America.

That's a good thing... it'll provide a little competiton for KPXJ's 9:00 newscast... even though I'm sure the viewership is dismal anyway... if KMSS gets a newscast, that'll just split the small audience even more.
PLEASE GO GET Shannon Slatton for this show!!! Get Jennifer Gray and Ruston Duke and you'LL Have a bonanZA. I'd watch.

My best guess is that this is tied to what WGMB-TV in Baton Rouge is doing, its called "FOX News Louisiana" and it is supposed to be statewide. KMSS is owned by the same company as WGMB along with KADN in Lafayette and WNTZ in Alexandria, so we shall see if that is what this is about.

If everyone likes Shannon so much please have her avoid that station and that company. The company is in bankruptcy (chapter 11) and will more than likely lose their TV stations. Wait until some real broadcasters assume control of the station...if anyone is even willing to buy it.
the station has some really good raw talent. The reason that place stinks is not the fault of the talent. I really wish someone would buy that place and spend the money to make some money. the reception is very poor across the area, the shots are grainny, the main anchors are not comfortable together, not having the AP is weak, not having ratings is weak, not having a satelite truck in MKT 81....is weak.
talent will continue to leave, and so will the watchers.
