Krile Leaves Equity
Arkansas Business.com reports longtime Little Rock newsman Doug Krile is leaving his post at Equity Broadcasting for a non media job. Here's a excerpt from the article: "Krile said Tuesday that with the sale of Equity last April to Coconut Palm Acquisition Corp., a "blank check" public company based in Boca Raton, Fla., and his short lived "5:30 Report" news program on KWBF-TV, Channel 42, no longer in production, his role was diminishing.
"Frankly a lot of the public relations duties were sort of phased out and a lot of the news duties were also headed in that direction," Krile said. "A new opportunity came around at the right time and I'm excited about the career change."

I worked with Doug when he was at 4. He was a class act. Good luck Doug.
Best of luck Doug.. Your were the best to work for and one HELL of a news guy!! Thanks for giving me my first on-air shot back in the day! The TV business needs more guys like you.
Eric Sullivan
Doug is a good guy... too bad he had to work for a rinky-dink station at the end. He's great
Arkansas broadcast television is losing one of it's icons. Doug Krile was the empitomy of professional broadcast journalism and he checked his ego at the door. It has been a pleasure knowing him. Best wishes Doug!
SO, where did any pearson from kthv go?
11:25AM---You are going to have to sit back and wait. There could be an announcement regarding Andy's landing as soon as early next week.
Maybe Andy is taking Doug's spot... but I wish he would take Heather Crawford's spot
KARK or KTHV would benefit by having Krile on their airwaves.
I agree with 7:03!
It would be great to have Doug back on 4 or 7.
Remember the days of Doug Krile & M Preston.
They were a solid team, but never competed in the ratings. Of course, their only competition was B.J. and Anne and Joe and Anne.
Bwahahahahah.
Actually Doug and Margaret competed fine with 7's pairing of Andy Pearson and Susan Rosegen, Gina Kurre. Unfortuantely, Doug followed Roy Mitchell and was at 4 during the Sandabrae(sp?) error.
Eh.. I think you have a creative memory. By the time Gina Kurre took over for Susan Roesgen, seven was beating both four and eleven combined.
I can remember Doug Krile and Bev Stoddard when they were at KCRG in Cedar Rapids (Iowa). I thought it was a huge loss to Iowa broadcasters when they left. TV news has never been the same!
Oh my god, there's a lot of helpful info above!
Thank you for your article, really effective piece of writing.
