Nexstar Updates KTAL's Website
Nexstar has turned KTAL's website into a nearly identical version of KARK's Arkansas Matters' site. KTAL's site is dubbed ArkLaTex Homepage.com. It has nearly the same layout as Arkansas Matters.com.

That is absolutely awful--worst website design I have seen in a long time. Maybe ever.

It is alot better than KTAL's old one. Say what you want about 4 sucking, but KTAL has moved from worst to middle of the pack in a hurry. You should see what those people are working with.
Congradulations KTAL!!! Keep on going forward.
KTAL just needs to try something Krazy/different on one of there shows to get people to tune in.
Middle of the pack? The product is better but they are still an afterthought.
It's a Nexstar corporate directive. Simply a way to try and sell adds. News is an afterthought on it.
I heard KNWA is going to finally get a web revamp next month, too.
After thought? Do you ever watch channel 12? you rally think that's good? KTAL is much better, it's too bad they sucked for 20 years.
I think the 2 new anchors are bad together and just bad. The girl is BIG and fake and the guy is FAKE and just not funny. Why isn't Shannon Slatton the main anchor?Sports and weather are solid.

The uncomfortable feeling you get when you watch KTAL is knowing that those two anchors make 6figures for what they do. Oh, the websites ok
Several points:
1) That website truly is awful. It's almost like they're trying to hide the fact that it's a KTAL website.
2) KTAL's news product is much better than the ratings would have you believe. It's a shame, really.
3) Shannon Slatton is excellent. They should have moved her to the prime time job when they had the chance.
4) Rest assured, the two main anchors at KTAL are NOT making 6 figures a year. Not in Market #81 they're not. I'd be very surprised if their total salaries hit 6 figures. Think 35-45K/year.
Oh, don't be so sure about the money. Rick Boone makes over $100,000, and so does Todd Warren.
Whne is KATV going to redesign their poor excuse of a website?
Why is Todd Warren still doing weather on Sundays? The ratings showed how it didin't help. Is it because most Sundays don't have an early program? I would rather see Tiffany Wong if I have to watch.
KTAL can't seem to settle on a web address, can they? Can people remember "arklatexhomepage.com"?? Why not just plain "ktal.com"? Oh, I see, that URL is being held for ransom, and Nexstar probably can't afford to pay them off or take it to court.
I think their main anchor is prego so let's ease off on the big comments, please. Yes, Shannon is very good but they are broadcasting into a black hole. Their product may be better but not many viewers take the time to notice. It's a bad station owned by a terrible company. There's only so much the people working there can do.

Later tonight, I'm going to see that box office hit entitled "Movie" and afterwards I'm going to pick up that breakfast necessity, Cereal.

The Website is definitely confusing. It could be redesigned a bit better. Oh and Shannon does ROCK! She so needs to be bigger market. Rustin also does a great job and should if he isn't already...work towards getting a degree in meteorology.

Shannon Slatton is very good in the mornings. It is a shame that nobody watches that show. It is sometimes very funny and her & Ruston look like they are having agood time. Ruston is also very talents and has a great personality, he will go far. I also hope he is getting his degree..
I'm wondering if the "ArkLaTex" phrase is going to make it through some corporate Internet site filters. They may interpret the "arklatex" as ark-LATEX.
Whats wrong with an anchor being big anyway, most of the people watching are big!!!
