THV News Director on 6 Pack Newscasts: So Far, So Good
It's been what...three weeks since the return of Dawn Scott to the THV anchor desk and they still all find room at it. THV News Director Mark Raines spoke with the Arkansas Times and had this to say about how things are going with the setup: “We’ve got six very talented people that we are working into our shows,” Raines said, “and it’s so far so good from our standpoint and from some viewer feedback we’ve received. It seems to be going pretty well.”

Who is taking bets on which one is given the send-off by the start of the next year? Can't keep all 6 on can you? Maybe they will but I still think one of them gets the boot.

the lack of comments to this blog is testimony to how little interest there is in THV right now...no one cares what they do, including the viewers, because their viewers are migrating to better local products, especially, in my opinion, KARK.
Wait for the numbers clown. How come there isn't any mark Raines bashing?

Try another thread if you are interested in something else. Ther are five other threads that have nothing to so with this topic. The rest of us that are here are interested in this topic.
You had better get used to it. Something is definitely going to change at KTHV. If you really believe they have six anchors by design, you are hallucinating. It's just a matter of time before somebody's contract is not renewed. Whether it's Liz, Andy or Anne remains to be seen.
Go post your complaints somewhere else.

they look all real stupid to me.
Clearly Liz is the weakest link. My recommendation: Anne and Dawn at 5:00 p.m.; Andy and Anne at 6:00 p.m.; Andy and Dawn at 10:00 p.m. Give Liz the status Special Assignment Reporter.
Mark Raines is an awful news director who is more concerned with $$$ than with journalistic ethics and proper practices.
Hey, Mark...hw about another THV "Exclusive Poll" less than 24 hours before an election because it's sweeps week?
So what if it discourages people from voting?! As long as it boosts ratings, right?

Mark Raines is a liar.
And his pants are on fire.
I wouldn't be too hard on ol' Mark. Given the passion for control from those above him, I doubt there's much coming out of his mouth or office that isn't controlled by someone else.
I'm in agreement that someone(s) are leaving. Whether by choice or booted is irrelevant.
My beef is with Raines and Audus. Even if higher ups are in control, Raines had a choice and Audus as well. To choose to lie is never right. I only hope that is the least of the instructions each so robotically follows.
What next? Guzzle the lemonade, jump off the cliff, or attempt to catch the next comet with a purple napkin over their face? Scary.

Did anyone hear KTHV's weekend anchor call a murder victim an "Afro American" on Saturday's newscast? Can't remember which one - may have been the early news. Regardless, the man should know better.
Give the guy a break. He's lived in Oklahoma and Fayetteville for his last two brief jobs. You know how welcome the brothers are in those places.
They sound very ignorant on alot of issues and kthv is pushing the envelope too hard.(I bet orkin hardcasetle had some thing to do with that)! That ignorant Hardcase could have given me a job!
