Micheals Promoted to Chief Met at KHBS/KHOG
This from a tipster: "Drew Micheals as of Friday has been officially promoted to Chief Meteorologist. The search is on for a new morning meteorologist."Michaels replaces Charles Salser who left to pursure a job in the ministry in Oklahoma.

just to clear something up also, as of right now Charles is still Chief Met until he leaves which is I believe the first of June, after May Sweeps is over. I also believe there will be some sort of sweeps piece announcing the departure to the public, but that's just a rumor I heard, I dunno if it's true.
You are right. Charles is still the chief until he leaves, then Drew will take over. Congrats Drew you deserve it. Now go in there and show'em what you've got!

Who will do the morning show? It won't be Ted that's for sure. He isn't quite ready yet. I'm sure Drew is going to hire someome well-qualified.

yeah right. drew is a stiff. the only reason this is good for 40/29 is that its not salser anymore.
I'm just glad to see KHOG giving a robot this kind of opportunity. Robots are just like us. Except they have plastic looking heads and talk really weird. Congrats to Drew the robotical weather dude

Robotic or not (and I don't think he is)....Drew was the most qualified and the most logical choice for the job.
KHOG was not going to take another chance and hire someone from outside and receive the tremendous backlash that they got when they hired Mark Lericos (instead of promoting Rusty or Derek). They weren't making that mistake again.
Drew deserved the job...he put in some SERIOUS work over the years there.
I agree that Drew was the most logical & obvious choice, but he's got some big shoes to fill. Regardless of what you say about Charles, he's got a HUGE presence at that station and whether you folks want to admit it or not people watched him.
On another unrelated note, WTF is up with all the sex stories on 40? It resembles Hard Copy now.
i think it is just the fact that is was happening right under everybody's nose over at the xxx shop on the state line. that place was right next to the most visited casino in the area. also, a school employee of an unknown district and a minister were found to be performing lewd acts there. sounds very worthy of news to me. i think most people were very shocked to see what was happening there.
It was a nice scoop for them early but it's old news now, actually over a week old.
It's called sensationalism when you run the same b-roll just so you can say "sex" everynight with no new developments in the story.
40/29 had new developments every day last week. From the secret apartments, to the hidden cameras...it was all new all week long.
Channel 40 had interior shots of thw raid when it happened. Channel 5 did not. KNWA doesn't care either way.
Holding video for a week and then airing it isn't a new development.

Some of you guys desperately need prayer. I don't work at 40/29 but no one deserves the personal attacks that some of you spout off.
It is easy for these cowards to rip someone anonymously. They wouldn't have the balls to reveal their true identity. I can guarantee you they wouldn't say half of this stuff to their face.
I agree, 90% of the people on this blog in general are clueless and honestly do not know most of the people personally that they seem so quick to rip on. Much less know about this biz of television. Seems to me that let's bust on the people that are doing well, because we are jealous, grow up...most of you, that's what you need to do is grow up. This is not junior high anymore, it's called professionalism, of which most on here lack, integrity and responsibility which all lack as well. The reality is that Drew is very,very good, Charles is very, very good and again, it sounds to me as though many of you are just jealous that you are not. I saw that too! Here's what the 40/29 control room probably sounded like: "Panties are down, roll promo!...Inside the mind of a sex addict." I wonder how difficult it was to find a guy who likes to whack it. Great feature guys.
You are so right! You know they were back there rolling tape..timing themselves...waiting for the perfect moment to flash that up there. They might think it helped their ratings...but no!!!! Nobody cares!!!! They just care about Grey's Anatomy and then they click it over to another station.
if you two idiots had a clue, you would know that they have to put that "snipe" up at a certain time during the show. They don't get to put it up when they want, so no, there was no timing to it.
