Win Can't Win for Losing

HOT DANG! A Little Rock radio station has picked up the story. Station KUAR has both a text version AND an audio version of the story. The station says KTHV execs are not discussing the situation since it falls under a personel matter. You'll find the article HERE. Listen to the audio report by Ron Breeding.

It's worth noting that someone has taken down Noble's Myspace blog.

plain and simple, the guy had his facts wrong -

"several bar fights?"

Some of you people still just don't get it. This is ARKANSAS...the Bible-belt...a state dominated by church-going, conservative, family-oriented folks. That doesn't describe everyone...but describes the majority. More importantly, those qualities describe those who can make or break the business of television news around here. To be successful....you must maintain a certain image. If you don't, you will not make it here...bottom-line, end of story. If you are not willing to conform, then you need to find another market more tolerant of different lifestyles. Winn just needs to go to a less conservative part of the country.

At 10:34 PM, April 25, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Exactly! You bar-hopping, party people that think what Winn did is okay are in the minority around here. Not that there's anything wrong with that lifestyle...but it could hinder you in public life in Arkansas.

He's 29 years old for goodness sakes...time to GROW UP! And when your in public eye you need to act professional all the time.

"Act professionally," you mean?

How old are you, anonymous poster?

According to the ideals of the "Bible Belt," aren't we supposed to defend ourselves from enemies when they attack?

Isn't that the message our President stresses to the nation every single day? Don't back down from the bad guy! That's the old-fashioned way!

I've heard some babbling about how he should've pressed charges. The Bible-belt values allow for no such Yankee B.S.!

How does adultery fit in with those family values?

Win hung out in bars?! Gasp! What would a single, good looking, 29-year-old man be doing socializing and enjoying a beer after work?! What has this society come to?! Why, God, why?! The end must be near!

None of this matters! It's done! Why must we obsess over this?

As for Win, he is talented, handsome, and inteligent. I doubt this drama will set him back much, in terms of the big picture!

Win is a good kid...and he doesn't need church to tell him otherwise.

Unfortunately, the 'big dogs' frequent these gossip sights. Sadly, that's the primary motivating force behind many of these posts.

We get it, #2! We're in the South! Arkansas is in the Bible Belt!

I suppose you are asserting Win's good ol' boy attitude hurts viewers' image of him.

Drinking beer ...
singing in a rock band ...
womanizing ...
defending himself in a fight (in which he was greatly outnumbered, but still came out looking pretty good -- he went on air a few days later!) ...
being fun but straightforward, honest, kind, and loyal ...

The last time I checked, that's what these parts are all about! If he's got the spirit of a true Arkansan but can still maintain a professional side for the news, I think the other stations would be idiots to not scoop up that goldmine while they have the chance!

At 2:31 AM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous VIEWER (ONE OF THE ONES WHOM YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO) said...

Have the people from the biz actually asked the viewers (not just the 'cat lady's who have time to phone into the station and share their fan stories)
who THEY'D like to get their news from? I personally was thrilled to see a down-to-earth guy on air! Who wants to watch stuffy, snotty "personalities," who waltz around town like they just stepped out onto the red carpet? Not I! It's ARKANSAS! Win didn't hold his nose up in the air or puff out his chest ... in fact, I often see him wearing hats in public. He fits in. What's wrong with that?!

Do ratings mean nothing?

If they listened to the general public, THV would know that hardly anyone respects what Craig has to say about Sports! They'd also know how annoyed we all are with their commercials, especially those about the 'kitchen sink!' I'd rather watch a Lifetime Original Movie staring Jared the Subway Guy
than be subjected to that torture for four seconds!

The VIEWERS like Win! Those from the station who are vulchuring over his job obviously do not, as seen in these mean news blogspot posts. Who matters most when it comes to the future of KTHV?

At 7:55 AM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ha! Now we're bringing Craig O'Neill into this:) I noticed someone yesterday called out Anne Jansen for what they felt was snotty behavior at mass. This situation with Winn is not comparable. Guess what....both Anne and Craig have been in showbiz around here for a lllooonnnggg time! Obviously they have maintained the public image expected of them by TV execs and the people or Arkansas. Winn has not.

At 8:00 AM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Along those same lines- The longer you are in a market and have established yourself as good both on the air and with the people, the more stuff you are allowed to get away with. Winn is a relative newcomer...and isn't popular enough in this market to overcome making a fool out of himself in public on a regular basis.

And yes....church is a great way to be successful in any business around Arkansas. Join one of the West Little Rock megachurches....be seen regularly and get involved....goes a long way towards being successful around here. The bar scene can only lead to trouble.

At 8:11 AM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Bottom line - If you don't understand why Winn Noble is in trouble - Spare yourself the trouble of applying for an on-air television job in this area!!!

Remember when Barry Brandt got in serious trouble for skipping line on election day? He was even invited to by someone in the line. Anyone and everyone can sit in judgement of you as a TV personality! If they yell loud enough and to the right people, you're out the door!

I wouldn't doubt it was insincere go-through-the-motions "Christians" who turned Win away from religion!

That comment almost made me vomit on myself!
Have you read the Bible? You do get the idea of those stories providing good lessons for us, right?

People who "get involved" and join churches solely for the social aspect should be ostracized from society. What a perversion!

It's these sorts of notions, especially their stance on religion, that is going to win Win a lawsuit!

At 8:33 AM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I would suggest Win try to get on at 103.7 The Buzz or Magic 105.....stations that have an off-color image and cater to that crowd...but his monotone probably wouldn't go over well on the radio. His good-looks don't matter when your audience can't see you:)

At 8:36 AM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You're right! Thank God we've got Jesus to help us pay the bills and advance our careers! This reminds me of a certain Bible story ... hmmm ... using a place of worship as a means to one's own personal ends, epecifically for money ...
If I recall, Jesus was not pleased with the situation.

Reality time for some of you! The target audience for TV news is 35 and over, church-going stiffs! If they don't like you, you're gone! It doesn't matter about freedom of expression if you piss off the wrong people!

You make it in television partially by being good...but mostly by knowing who's butt to kiss...both literally and figuratively! That goes for viewers and execs. Win didn't play the game or play it well enough...so he's gone! No lawsuit is going to change how the game is played.

Been in broadcasting in and around this area for almost 25 years.

Folks, I am not disagreeing with your philosophies of how things should be...I am just trying to point out how they really are. You must conform to how the majority of your audience expects you to live your life in public. If that's who you are, GREAT! If not, you must pretend in public that it's who you are or you will not be successful. Is that good? No Is it reality? YES!

You sound WAY too old to be frollicing around on an online gossip site! Don't you have anything better to do?

Briefly continuing....I am at heart a pretty straight-laced "person next door". I don't have to conform much to what my audience expects. I know others that do and do it well.

If you wanna blame someone for what's happening to Win Noble, blame a society that requires conformity to be successful. If you do not conform, and this goes for any age or situation, you will find life much more difficult than those that do conform. Is that a good thing? Heck no! Is it reality on Planet Earth? YES! I think someone of you need to find another planet or an uninhabited part of ours to create the ideal society where everyone can really be themselves.

I heard the KUAR story this morning and was surprised Ron allowed it on the air. The only source, referred to as "internet reports," was this blog. I don't know if Ron did more actual reporting on the original story yesterday, but the rehash this morning was nothing but a synopsis of comments from this site. Well, the sound from Bob Steele on the overarching issue of the morals clause in television personality contracts did help, and it was probably enlightening to those outside the tv biz. But to report some of the allegations and comments about Win posted here as if they were fact? Wrong.

Good luck Win! I hope this is a lesson learned. Maybe not so much on how to live your life, but where to live your life! The old dude is unfortunately right about conformity. You need to find a place where people are more like you. Go to CA or NY. Good luck!

Where is the big bad Win??? Looks like he's tucked his tail and ran off! Cancelled the band shows..didn't sing at the show on Monday. For someone who talks about how no person can control him and making threats, he sure is quiet now...

Ask Larry Audus, the General Manager of KTHV, how he feels about atheists, gays and alternative religion. He's a graduate of Bob Jones University and has, on occasion, asked his employees if they think they are going to heaven. It's inappropriate and should be addressed by Gannett Corporate. This is not to say Win should keep his job. What he did was stupid. Audus's narrow mind is also part of the problem.

At 12:18 PM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Being in Arkansas has nothing to do with this. If you are on air at a TV station and have a personal blog, you shouldn't be trying to be a TuckerMax Junior on it.

That goes for any market in the country. If Katie Couric went to an open mic night at a comedy club and started telling Andrew Dice Clay jokes, CBS would not be happy.

At 12:27 PM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Guess what! Larry's views on athiests, gays, and alternative religion happen to reflect the views of the majority of Arkansans...those same Arkansans who pay the bills for KTHV with their viewership and advertising dollars. By taking action against Win, Larry may not be doing what some of you think is the idealogical or lawful thing to do...but he is doing what's best for the business of KTHV in Little Rock, Arkansas. When you do what's best for your business, you always seem in the end to rise above threats, boycotts, lawsuits, etc.

Hey Win Lovers, or Win,
Walk into ANY PLACE in Hot Springs and find the first person who went to school in Hot Springs or Henderson State ask them what they think about Win Noble?
You will have a hard time finding ANYONE that will say anything good about him.
Whoever the one person is that is posting all the messages (WIN), you know that the "ladies man" is not Win Noble. People in Hot Springs still want to know if he's gay? That guy creeps chicks out more than Danny Bonaduche. Talking about yourself in third person, just making fun of peole to get a laugh out of the people you're with, being so fake ALL THE TIME. Win's nobody's friend, and certainly not a big pimp.
Didn't his Mom get him the job at KTHV in the first place with whoever the lady ND was before the guy now? YEP

At 12:53 PM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm not going to judge the guy anymore. I don't approve of what he did. It was moronic and juevenile but it's his business, not mine.

I think potentially losing his job, and having almost 300 posts picking everything about Win apart equals or surpasses the offenses at this point. This is piling-on and it's really over the top.

I for one am moving on and crossing my fingers that the guy doesn't show up somewhere with an AK47 or put one to his temple. This is the equivalent of a mob surrounding one person and sptting on him, throwing things and beating him. It's only human nature to want to either destroy others or yourself.

I know it's hard to see, Win, but this can really be a positive experience for you. You have enough friends who support you and you can use this experience to start again in a career. If you go underground or obsess about this, it can ruin you. If you can't do it, put yourself in someone hands who can and let go of the pride--and learn.

As we old-timers who've been through the ringer can attest, this all may be the best thing to ever happen to you.

This, too, shall pass.

Signed,

An older Co-worker

If I may take it one step further, this whole thing is really simple: Win couldn't decide who he wanted to be.

Just like in his rock world, he'd be cast out for singing songs about puppies and flowers while you jam heavy metal, you can't be in the TV news world and put on a face of fairness, maturity and objectivity while you sing about f-ing and drinking all night while you threaten people with murder--even in jest.

For Win to come out of this, he needs to focus on who HE is and WHAT he wants.

At 2:13 PM, April 26, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Stop the B.S. on Larry's views and what's best for the station. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't have the right to ask employees if they think they're going to heaven. It's a harrassment/discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen.

If he was merely an entertainment reporter that would be one thing. Or even a sports reporter. But he is/was the weekend anchor and regardless of the marketplace, I think viewers expect a certain amount of maturity, decorum and dignity from the person who is supposed to provide the people with, for better or for worse, a conveyor of the pertinent national and local news/events.

In this respect, Win failed to resepect the nature of his position and how his behavior might affect his image and credibility as a newscaster.

Win has the right to do whatever he wants in his free time- on poorly written, juvenile blogs, in marginally talented bands, at crappy characterless bars, with nubile, vapid, impressionable ladies, but KTHV has the right to reprimand/fire him if his image is not consistent with their so-called image- whatever the hell that may be.

KTHV is a joke anyway, as is all the local newscasts. All they do is report on dog shows, football and read AP feeds.

And Jeez- it's not even like Walter Cronkite made out with Courtney Love or anything. Just a 29 year old exerting a 15 year olds judgment.

Leave him on the air for the yucks. It'd probably be good for a few Nielsen points. Nobody watches local news- and this would be as good a reason as any to watch it.

Good ol' Bible belt indeed.

Win Noble interviewed me during the legislative session last year. I found him to be very professional. He came to the interview prepared with some excellent questions and even better follow-up questions. He comported himself very well and left me impressed not only with his professionalism but his ability to evoke responses from me on air that I wouldn't have thought I would utter. I found him to be much better than the others from KTHV and other local outlets who have interviewed me in the past couple of years.

This is resembling a public lynching, and frankly I haven't seen behavior on his part that deserves it.

Just a quick note for those of you who keep talking about a lawsuit against THV on behalf of Win Noble - you need to spend less time watching Court TV and learn a little more about how good businesses work. My point is - if your employer no longer wants you working for them, you will be fired! This is regardless of ANY issue, legal or ethical, that you try to raise to keep your job. They had a choice to hire you, and they have a choice to fire you.

Of course, he can fire you whenever he wants. Have you not heard that Arkansas is an "At-will employment" state? Your employer doesn't even have to give you a reason.

For anonymous who wanted details of "Irvin's" blog, just so happens I had it emailed to me before he took it down. Wanna see?

About me:
I'm the other shade of mood swings! The part you love till it scares you. Diagnosed Bi-Polar and a deviant... wading in the waters around you. More to come...

Who I'd like to meet:
It's not so much who I would like to meet as who I would like to see run into each other. For example: George W and Marilyn Manson, Those who have abducted a child and the families of those they took them away from, Me and my goody goody alter ego.

Why I Am A Better Animal

I know this whole 'civilized human being' thing seems to be going well for some people now-a-days. But, I think I would be better off as a wild animal. I know for a fact that vi0lense feels good. I get sick of the constraints of a 'healthy relationship' and would much prefer to enjoy what we all want in the first place. And I could lay to waste all the religious people who send out those gd 'Do you believe in G0d?' bulletins. No! I don't believe in G0d, or the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy, or any other mythological creature, so *** off!!!

I haven't heard the "public" saying anything about wanting Win gone. Quite the opposite, in fact. Are you making assumptions or do you have any proof to back that up?

At 10:37 PM, April 27, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

how do we know it's Win's? B/C the only friends on his list are the Starless Allstars and his "alternate" band. He has also confided in close friends of this site. He needs more professional help and to get out of AR. He is finished here.

I just went to the Irvin site. I didn't see anything on it, including friends. One thing did catch my eye: the height is reported at 6'0." I happen to know Win is well over a few inches taller than that. I've heard of guys exaggerating their height ... but not the other way around.

A few things come to mind, among them:

RAILROAD

and

LAWSUIT!

Mr. Railroad and Lawsuit....haha You need to read the earlier posts that remind us that employment is at will - both by employee and employer. THV no longer wants Win Noble, so he's gone. They have the right to do that.

At 8:25 AM, April 28, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think some of you need to move to France, where they do have laws making it almost impossible to fire people. Those laws have a lot to do with why their economy is so screwed up and no one can get a job! America is much better off because hiring and firing is at will.

At 8:31 AM, April 28, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Haha, I realize this isn't about France, but in response to what that person just said....you have to admire the Frence for standing up for what they believe in. they may starve to death for it, and they maybe forced to surrender to the Salvation Army because they can't defend themselves.....but they stand up for what they believe in!

First, let me tell you the "Irvin" site was Win because not only did that site contain his band but also his own Myspace page. What idiot would accept a friend request of a person posing to be himself if it weren't him? Where did you people get your common sense? Did you not stop the train when "someone" was handing out common sense?
Please Win, tell us your sitting in the corner of a quiet room rocking yourself back and forth...

I accept myspace friends all of the time without asking for a resume, or even a blood test, believe it or not.

If someone sent me a friend request and he happened to be going by "Phillips," my middle name, I wouldn't think in a million years that I would later be accused of being that person.

Are you retarded?

You still can't list a person's religious views as a reason for firing them. This is the US of A!

I can't believe people are on here pretending to be true Christians and offended by anything Win has done when they themselves are posting spiteful, evil, immature posts. I don't remember Win ever personally attacking anyone in his blogs. I don't remember seeing one single name on there!

Retarded?
Hmmm. Let's see the only people as friends on "Irvin's" page are his band Starless Allstars and another useless band he tried to start. So who's retarded now, idiot? It's common sense.
And for the last poster...the employer can fire you for walking the sidewalk backwards. This is Arkansas-a hire and fire at-will state. Get it?

At 9:37 AM, April 28, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If anyone on here really and truly feared him or thought he was going to "go postal" or anything of the sort, you wouldn't be posting such mean things about him. What would that do but endanger lives?!

Either you are so evil yourselves that you are willing to risk whatever might happen if you egg him on ...
which makes Y'ALL the crazy ones ...

or you have been making a bit of this up and spinning it around to milk it for all it's worth because you have something to gain or you like to see people suffer ...
in which case, Y'ALL are still the crazy ones ...

I'd be willing to be it's the latter!

It seems it is you who is retarded. I just went to the page. Irvin has no friends. Are you the one who made up the site? In any case, aren't you getting a little too worked up for an online gossip site that doesn't even have anything to do with you? Is this a scorned ex-girlfriend of Win's?

I, for one, believe that Win (is that short for Winston)is a tremendous asset to the community. Not only does he have an amazingly angelic singing voice, but his stage presence is awe inspiring. Lenny Bruce meets Jim Morrison meets Eddie Vedder. WOW!

Win also provides us with a hip, relevant, and pointed commentary that stokes the fires of establishment itself. If his blog goes down, all I can say is that Pulitzer will be disappointed.

So people, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

And let Win be free, let him be free...god bless that kid.

Dear Authority on Literacy,

I understand you have some serious hostility towards Mr. Noble; however, you really do need to get a life of your own. Why do you care anyway?

Furthermore, why insult people for not taking your word for it about what you say was once on the "Irvin" page? That doesn't seem very intelligent to me.

At 10:29 AM, April 28, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who has proof of anything on the "Irvin" site? Can we please get a thorough investigation of all of Win's hundreds of myspace friends? Hurry! This is the most important thing I will do all year! Do it! Code red! Investigate them all, I say! No one is safe from myspace scrutiny! Save not the women nor the children! I don't care if I have to give up my children, my wife, my job, my career, my social life, or even my life! I will continue bravely surfing the Mspaces for as long as it takes for me to happen upon something to use as a weapon to virtually stone somebody to death ... and if I can't find anything, I'll make something up! It just doesn't matter when I have the satisfaction of badmouthing others to make myself feel better by comparison! Onward march, soldiers!

One more time for those who are LAZY! This is a cut and paste taken directly from Win's site before he pulled it off.
QUOTE:

"I ran across an article at work entitled Dealing With Difficult People At Work. I won't bore you with the whole article but I will hit the high points and solutions, followed by my commentary.

Heres how the article says you'll know that you are dealing with a "Difficult Person:" Do you feel tongue-tied or unable to function around the difficult person, from here on out I will refer to them as bullies. Do you think about quitting because of the bully? Do you have thoughts of revenge? Are you noticing physical symptoms from the stress of being around the bully? Does working with this person cause you to make mistakes at work? Does working with a verbally abusive bully cause you to take your anger out on your family?

The articles proposed solutions (word for word):

1) Silent Refocusing - Speak this silent phrase to yourself over and over: Hear the valuable stuff. Ignore the anger. Its not yours.

2) Say to yourself, I'm glad Im not that persons gall bladder.

3) Use a Comeback Line that Shows Caring and Professionalism. Pull out a pad and pen and tell the bully, Let me write this down. I really want to make sure I understand what you are telling me.

Here's how I know if I am dealing with a "difficult person" at work... I hate them. I also have some suggestions you may wish to take under consideration... They get more forceful as the list goes on.

1) Tell the bully to fuck off!

2) Register the bully online with NAMBLA (National Man Boy Love Association) and request hard-core pictures sent to their home.

3) Tell them if they keep this shit up, youll take a dump on their car.

4) Follow them home after work. Pull up behind them in the driveway and say Now I know where you live. If you dont want me to come back, quit fucking with me!

5) Explain to them how fragile your mental state is and that your therapist told you the next person that gives you a hard time will probably wake up one night in a pool of their own blood with you standing over them crying and saying "I've done a bad thing."

6) Finally (and this one is guaranteed to work), walk up to them and whisper so that no one else can possibly hear you: If you dont leave me alone, I'm going to fucking kill you. I dont mind spending the rest of my life in jail as long as your dead.

Good Luck,

Win

Well....From what I've heard it wasn't all that bad. As long as he's not making those comments on TV then what's the problem? It's not like everyone in Arkansas has to like every news anchor. If you don't like on then simply don't watch them. Also I don't see people that prefer to have "romantic" relationships with members of the same sex being fired but since we are in the "bible belt" and people around here don't think it's ok for a guy to be in a band and go to bar while he is employed as a local television personality why should we have people who So what if Win does or does not believe in Christianity...it's not like he's on the news preaching about it. From what I've heard about the situation I think the person who wrote the article should also be fired for not being professional by leaving out parts of comments and rearranging words to make the comments worse.

Win Noble's tears cure cancer.

Its true, it's on myspace.

At 11:08 PM, April 29, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You people are killing me with your,"If he didn't say it on TV, what's the problem?" ignorance. HE SIGNED AN AGREEEEEEEEMENT to uphold the image of the station - on air AND off. This is called a morality or ethics clause. These are legally binding. Violating an ethics clause is grounds for dismissal in any workplace where they are used. Of course he didn't do any of these these things on TV, but the wording in these clauses states very clearly that, on or off the job, the undersigned is to project the image of the station and conduct themselves, ethically morally, and intelligently.

The guy has been getting disgracefully drunk out on the town while bragging about his job and name dropping the station for a long time now. Reports of that sort of thing went unaddressed for the longest time. Alcoholism is a common demon in the media for whatever reason so, unless it leads to more significant problems, many look the other way. Once Win's partying began leading to public brawling and name calling at popular area establishments he was confronted about it.

The myspace page/blog came to light around that time and was regarded with substantially more concern. He may have pulled the blog, but it was copied and pasted enough in this blog alone that it's not going away. Anyone who wants to know what the big deal is/was can still read his writings with a little googling. I suggest you read over Mr. Nobel's drunken/stoned ramblings and ask yourself if that sort of talk is between the lines. If you think it is; you are both incorrect and mentally challenged.

How old are you?!?! If you're still in school, PLEASE start paying attention. If you've already graduated, be considerate and don't reproduce. This guy's drinking buddies prying their pittiful selves away from mpspace long enough to chime in on this is only making him look worse. Shouldn't you kids be popping comment cherries or forwarding assinine quizes? Hey Win, with friends like these.........

At 1:45 AM, April 30, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Of course, the morals clause is very open to interpretation by the bosses at any TV station. They can fire you for littering for gods sake.

My question is why is THV even delaying on acting? If he's so horrible, why is his bio still on the website still representing the station?

At 6:26 PM, April 30, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'd bet Win would even agree to him violating the morality/ethics clause. Who has ever said he didn't? Who at THV hasn't violated their contract?!

The point about him not mentioning THV or his last name in the myspace blog and him acting professionally on air is important because it illustrates the degree to which he violated said clause in his contract. There must be some objectivity used here!

The real question everyone should be asking themselves is: is what Win did so much worse than what other anchors have done? Was defending himself outside of a restaurant more 'immoral' than others' open adulterous acts, for example? I've got dirt on nearly every anchor at that station. Any honest THV employee would tell you they have technically done things with which the station doesn't agree.

With respect to the fair employment guidelines in Arkansas, Win has every right to sue if he was treated differently than the other employees because of religion or anything else. The "Bible Belt" excuse wouldn't stand a chance in court!

At 6:34 PM, April 30, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Win's blogs are hysterical! Did anyone read the one about the shrimp? Genuis!

I don't see the point in posting it, however, considering the only blog which got him in trouble was the one with all of the "---------"s in it. The others are irrelevant.

Besides, he was already in trouble for the alleged El Porton and Ciao Baci incidents.

My confidence in reporters has all but diminished. At this point, I feel I can only trust an honest guy like Win. It's a real shame he may not be there anymore!

I hope Win knows how many positive comments have been deleted from this site! And, no, they didn't contain profanity.

At 10:20 PM, April 30, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

What Win said in his blog was down right nasty for a person whose job puts him in the public eye. It has nothing to do with whether we live in the Bible belt, or whether he is a Christian or not. The internet has places for those who want to write dirt and those who don't want to read it know not to go there. To air his dirty feelings as he did was asking for trouble - almost suicidal.

At 12:04 AM, May 01, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I disagree. What he said was obviously in jest, hence the comments about Scott Peterson, etc.

Even if you cannot get his humor, his words don't compare with the amount of violence and sexual images that our media already bombards us with.

And in regard to your internet comment, what he wrote was nothing compared to the crap that is out on the internet. Have you ever been on the internet? Have you ever seen the emails the majority of the public receives every day AS A JOKE?!

These two guys walk into a deli and one of them sees a woman from work who he hates.

He goes over to the pregnant woman thinking that she reminds him of some murder case he saw in the news. Shaking the thought, he approaches her from behind, fondles her and then whispers in her ear so that no one else can hear that he's willing to spend the rest of his life in jail--that it would be worth it to see her dead and "off the job."

Ho-ho. Hee-hee. That is so funny.

Gee, hope the grammar was okay, too.

At 8:49 AM, May 01, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You obviously missed the point completely!

Fondles? What? Murder case? Ummm ... allow me to help you understand a bit better:

If you'll read the blog, it was one of those stupid things lazy bosses give their employees to remind them that they basically dont give a d@mn about them. That's probably what he was poking fun of, in the first place.

It tells a person to actually stand up for himself, although it does so in a shockingly blunt sarcastic way ...
I agree. If a bully is bothering you, tell him to f*ck off. Don't run home and cry and bottle up your feelings until you become one of the millions who die from heart attacks each year in this country.
