KNWA Chief Met Leaving

This from the tip box: "Rick Katzfey, KNWA Chief Meteorologist, is leaving when his contract ends, which if my memory is correct it will be sometime in June."

According to his bio, he has been with KNWA since 2003.

AND KNWA is not wasting anytime recruiting his replacement.

I guess that'll leave just Garrett as the only credtable and non-obnoxious Chief in the area.

Salser just needs to move on...

Well maybe that's why he hasn't, cause he's not creditable, and there's no where to go...

Too bad Rick's leaving. I work over at a competing station and have met Rick on several occasions. Best of luck to him.

Most Chiefs are cocky know it alls. Rick really is a nice guy...lots of character both on-air & off.

Why all the Salser bashing? Sure his voice is annoying...but does anyone actually know the guy?

Rick is a great person. He got screwed. The management did not want him anymore because a few people didn't like him on-air.

Rick is a really great guy, and will be missed. Very genuine and a family man that probably would have settled down here. KNWA has let a good one go.

I hope KNWA hires someone to replace Katzfey that has a lot of energy and maybe (if that someone is out there) a person with knowledge and love for Arkansas.

I don't know if that person exists, or if KNWA would have the good sense to think outside the box.

It would be a refreshing change than "rounding up the usual suspects".

Who cares... it's just Northwest Arkansas.

Yeah, you're right. Who should care about the 3rd fastest growing market in the country? Our market may be smaller, but at least our viewers are employed!

I'm a huge fan of the growth charts which project NWA to be larger than Little Rock by 2020
