New KATV Met Makes On-Air Debut

Todd Yakoubian made his on air debut Saturday on Daybreak. As reported FIRST on ATN about a month ago, Yakoubian is the new weekend meteorologist for KATV, filling the vacancy left by Devon Lucie who left Channel 7 for KVVU, FOX 5 in Las Vegas.

Yakoubian joins KATV from WRCB in Chattanooga, TN. According to his bio at WRCB.com, Yakoubian has worked as Chief Meteorologist at a television station in Missoula, Montana. Todd holds the seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he chased storms all over the plains states. One encounter with a tornado in southwest Oklahoma even threw his car off the road.

Todd

I just found out that you have left WRCB. I am sad to see you go. It was nice to see someone my age hold such a successful position. We are going to miss you in the Tennessee Valley.

I enjoyed watching Todd tonight. He is very well-spoken and did a great job.
How old is he? Married? Kids?

Does Paul still work there? They've all but phased him out. All he does is the Razorback report. KATV couldn't fire him, so they just told him he wasn't doing sports anymore.

Welcome to Little Rock Todd! I think you will be a great addition to the KATV team.

#2 in the morning trying to be #3. Tied or losing at 10pm. I'd say they're taking on water. Oprah and Wheel of Fortune will keep them afloat at 5 and 6, but the water is rising.

The water is also rising in New Orleans. Maybe Channel 7's new meteorologist was watching Channel 4's Dan Skoff's as 4 provided live coverage from the heart of the storm.

Ned was busy getting a tan on the golf course.

That goes for me. (insert derogatory KATV comment here). I mean, (insert flattering KARK or KTHV comment here).

I mean, REALLY! You say, "(copy someone else's post here for reference)" You really are a JACKASS that has no idea what the hell is going on!

Really, all that matters is (insert sexist comment about a female on-air personality). That's the only reason I watch.

(Whoops, forgot to fill in the blanks.)

I love the above poster's wit. Brutal and funny at the same time.

But, I also bet $100 that a hot, female on-air talent didn't write it!

So original he had to post it on a few other articles as well...

I got a good idea lets get rid if KATV people and all and let's take over the studio and have it for the people's station and rescue us from the communist broadcasting!

Not to be a smart-alek, but if you took over the station and "have it for the people's station", i.e., for the good of the whole - from each his abilities to each his needs - then that woud be Communist broadcasting. Not getting rid of it.

Don't forget to fill it full of doves.
