Who is leaving KATV? On its website, KATV has posted an opening for a news anchor. I wonder who has given their 2 weeks notice?UPDATE: This from Medialine's Open Line: "Inside information says the job is not actually open. It was filled months ago and this post is only for EEO reasons. Go figure."
Isn't that against the law?

I'm 99% sure that is the weekend met job recently vacated by Devon Lucie. Now, there's a huge screw-up that KATV needs to fix, fast.
Word on the street was they had filled the weekend met job. If Kate's contract is up in September, she may have told KATV she was not going to renew. Seems a little quick for Munoz to leave. She just got promoted, and surely they're not letting Inman go. Unless he's leaving on his own. It has to be either Kate or Scott. Either way it's not good news for KATV.
I still think it might be Devon's job
They've already posted the weekend met's job desription and taken it down. THIS ONE just popped up Monday. Whoever it is, is getting the hell out of dodge before the titanic sinks!
Devon's job has already been filled by a guy from Chattanooga.
So who could it be ?
KATV isn't sinking. If someone is leaving, it's likely for a bigger market.

If that's true... why are they advertising for a news anchor? Maybe they are changing duties around there? Promoting someone and demoting someone else ?
Maybe they're going to hire someone within to co-anchor with Pam on the weekend?
Two anchor on the weekend? That doesn't make sense. We don't have any idea what's going on at KATV

Too, cheap to get an extra anchor for the weekend. Just look at the weekend morning show. They're paying their own staff to work 6 days instead of hiring another body to fill the void.
Just wait, nothing is happenning.

Legally, they have to accept applications and have an HONEST search for the job.
I bet every company does it. The radio station where I used to work secretly took applications for my replacement, hired someone THEN advertised for the job. All before I was gone.
And you wonder why stations hire losers so often? Because they don't take a look around to see who is really best. They hire friends, or even worse, girlfriends.

if its an AP story KARK will be last with it because they dont have the AP as most of us know.
Just noticed the message thread about this at Medialine's Open line has been edited. Not the first time a thread about KATV has litterally vanished. Wonder what the deal is about mentioning KATV on that message board?
Wow, Fox posted the info from a press conference first. They must be the best station in the market.

Why does every topic about Little Rock get pulled from Medialine almost instantly? I'm not a conspiracy theorist but....
Medialine pulls them becuase they end up being a pissing match between the stations.
Why does Fox 16 keep calling the 630-430 interchange "dysfunction junction"? I've have never heard it called that a day in my life.
Fox is using catchy phrases to be different... that's a common tactic for a # 4 station.
Why are posting itrms from a messageboard like "Medialine" as news?
Something tells me you work at KATV and KATV never wants the truth to come out. Just like all posts about KATV on Media Line quickly vanish. Something tells me it's an inside job!
Are you suggesting KATV has a connection to Medialine? And your response still doesn't answer the question. Why post items from Medialine as news?
Maybe whoever this site belongs too was trying to get to the bottom of WHY KATV has posted a job vacancy when one doesn't exist? I don't know. But the explanation makes sense since they didn't advertise when they "promoted" Christana Munoz.
So what happens if someone that's already at KATV applies. What if a weekend anchor decides she wants to get promoted to the weekday gig?
She won't try that again. They should just give it back to Kate.
Why wouldn't she try again? If they're just posting the job to go through the motions then she might have a case.

Christina has the job.... so I guess they can interview people and then just "decided" that Christina gets it.. fulltime. The reason it's legal is because Christina is probably classified as a temporary anchor. Just a guess. But Christina does a great job... she would get it anyway.
But from everything on-line the job is hers. It says so in her bio and everywhere else. Wait...check that...it doesn't mention it in her bio. Did I make that up or has it been changed?
EEO is not take lightly by the FCC. If the job is not really open this could cost KATV thousands of dollars in fines and worst case scenario they could lose their license. (Highly unlikely but it could happen)

I just realized something.
DeeeeeeWayne Graham has nothing better to do these days... than sit alone in his underwear... in his little room.... and post to this blog. His career is SO over.
I think the poster a few posts up is right. Munoz was probably calassified as "temporary" and now they are going to give it to her full time. I'm sure KATV and Allbriton have done their homework and are not doing anything illegal. This happens alot more than the average person might think it does.
As far as Pam or someone else from the inside wanting it, nobody there compares to Munoz right now so even if it was open she would get it hands down anyway. It's amazing how good she has become in just a few months. When her contract expires she is going to be hot commodity and one KATV should really try to keep.
Why doesn't KATV just bring Dewayne back? He was good.
DeeeeeWayne isn't good anymore... he's a self-promoting gloryhound who is only in the business to boost his ego. That's why he tried his hand at politics. Maybe he could run for dogcatcher in Sherwood?

What was Dewayne's downfall? His ego? I never understood why he ran for Congressman down South when he lived in Little Rock. Made no sense to me.
DeeeeeWayne just lost all sense of ethics and credibility. He loved to fight battles, even when there was no good reason for it. He became a hollow, albiet noisy, man.
Dewayne may be annoying behind the scene, but on camera he's a pretty good personality. And, that's what matters.
No reason is ever given when people disappear from KATV. Remember the news anchor who had eye surgery on live TV? He just vanished. Recently the youngster Leland Vittert disappeared. No explanation. Second the motion about it is time for Dale Nicholson to go. The minutes they start a news cast with a national story that I can get on (with better reporting from) MSNBC, Fox, or CNN I change channels.
Channel 7 needs a major overhaul!!!
They treated Cary Martin and Krista Platzer horribly. Krista had moved her family here from Canada, bought a house only six months before she gets word that they're taking her off the air, effective immediately. Seems the hot dogs at Channel 7 should have made up their minds before they recruited someone from Canada. Cary Martin had been a devoted employee for several years and was also not given any notice. Devon Lucie probably got wise to them and ran for his life!!
Watch 4, 11 or 16 unless you want to be put to sleep by 7's anchors and see Ned the "Leather Man" walk back and forth across the screen to make sure you notice him. YAWN!!!
