NWA Sports Director Canned
Word is KHBS/KHOG Sports Director Aaron Peters has been fired. One blog reader thinks,"Their second-most-senior sports guy, Derek Burleson, isn't a candidate, I'm guessing, because he blurted out "Goddamnit!" live during a remote a couple of years ago." The station isn't wasting anytime advertising for the job. It has listed the position on Journalismjobs.com.

Aaron was lucky to come into that job to start with. Had Pete Gilbert and his wife not left for Baltimore and Bo Mattingly been fired before that he would still be a photographer for the sports department. And had Mike Nail not left for NBC 24/51 Aaron wouldn't have even been hired...he'd still be back in Edmond, OK working for the TV station at the Univ. of Central OK. I hope they get someone really good because they have been hurting without Nail and Mattingly. And it is a shame that Mattingly has to be on a low rated Nexstar station. It would be nice to see him back at ABC 40/29 or maybe we could put him on Univision Northwest Arkansas! Nothing better than Bo being a smartass in Spanish.
Aaron did a good job and its a shame he let his demons get a hold of him. he was way better than eric sullivan who may be on his way out at channel 5. aaron may have backed into the job but he thrived when he got the job.

Bo never should've gotten the axe from 40/29 a few years ago. It was because the douche-bag news director at the time (who was terminated himself months later) had a real bug up his ass about Bo's sense of humor and his funny on-air anctics (especially with Craig Cannon) and pretty much used his DUI arrest as the excuse he needed to get rid of him. And poor Pete had to come back from vacation early because of that. Couldn't even wait a few more days.
i think its terrible, it was a mistake, it could of happened to anyone it just sucks it happened to such a good guy
khbs/khog was lucky to have him, but he will get passed this-his career will prosper again, and by the way people have said a lot worse things on the air-GODDAMNIT-is hardly a reason to not move a talented person up-besides he didn't know he was on-air

I heard from a insider that Bo got at least 1 or maybe 2 DUIs in a "company car"...maybe the ND did not like him, but he got fired for his drinking...
bo never got a dwi in a company vehicle.
Any time you get a dwi, regardless of who owns the vehicle, it's grounds for termination if your duties require you to drive a company vehicle on the job. It's an insurance thing. I would imagine that's the case here.
That's not the case. Aaron Peters resigned, period. Whatever happened to him before that is no one's business. He didn't get a DWI.
So what happened with Aaron, what are the demons?
For one thing Aaron Peters did get the job at KNWA. And as for not getting a DWI, Its right he got drunk rolled his 40/29 SUV and ran off before the cops arrived then they covered it up. And asked for him to resign.
Well don't forget about him saying that some Mexicans stole the car. He should be blackballed if u ask me.
Fort Smith sports casters are horrible Eric Sullivan especially he seems like a real "nice" guy.
What happened to Bo Mattingly? Where did he go and why did he leave?
