Is Rain on the Way?

This may not be new but I just found it today. KTHV offers a livestream of it's weather radar, oh yeah the official name is Live View Radar. Really cool. And I have to say MOST Little Rock stations seem to be taking advantage of the internet by offering not only text stories BUT QUALITY video as well. What I am waiting on is actual LIVE steaming of newscasts by one of the Little Rock stations. THV has played with LIVE streaming of special events. If I'm not mistaken THV LIVE streamed the official opening of the Clinton Library last year.

Streaming will take a while. It's a cost issue. With most of the stations airing news form sources like CNN, CBS, ABC, and the AP they'd ahve to pay additional rights to broadcast and share that informaiton over the internet. So the just stream local stories.

THV has had the Live Stream radar for a while.

KATV is equipped to have live streaming newscasts now, they just don't because of the time and work it takes. Not a cost issue, they are set-up through WJLA for local stuff. You'd see black during commercials.
