Little Rock Station Claims to be Tops on Facebook
KATV/Channel 7/Little Rock now claims to be "The Number One Arkansas Station on Facebook". Not sure how they came to claim this award..if it's by the number of "likes" they are wrong. As of this writing KARK had the most with 103,311 "likes"..KATV is second with 101,932 "likes" and KTHV trails with 79,800 "likes".
Another goof...there's someone missing in the picture above.

Another goof? As of this writing, KARK has 103k. Maybe you should check your facts. Glad you aren't in news. Somehow they gained over 2,000 fans in one day. Hmmm...buying? Whatever. I thought it was about ratings. Content is still king. Stir the pot.
you sound like a jealous katv employeeee
The only thing that I'm surprised about is that Nexstar hasn't started buying "likes" for FOX16 yet.
Great idea. We'll get right on top of that.
i guess mr thomas better get on the ball and strat promoting it harder.
Strat it alright.
Where is Erin???????
So if FOx16 has the most accurate weather, I guess KARK isn't as accurate? Why don't they just share that information?
Who cares about facebook? It's not like a station can make money on it.
Where's Erin (Andrews) Hawley?
it's not a shot of the weekend crew, numbnuts.
Your correct. It's a picture of nearly all the numb nuts.
Erin Hotty? Dang, nice hire KATV.
Check out those head shots. Everyone has refrigerator white teeth. I wonder if they glow in the dark like Ross' teeth on Friends?
It was not a goof. KATV passed KARK when the sign went up. KARK magically added 2 thousand viewers the next day. Maybe they just worked really hard...or maybe they bought them.
KARK was well ahead of KATV until recently. Why not question how they jumped so fast since 4 as had the most for a while now?
Ask KARK how they got so many in the first place. They bought thousands.
Who cares. I dislike both of them.
Erin doesn't need a bigger head than she already has. She has a condescending attitude to all the photographers and producers she supposedly works "with". I think her mind we work "for" her.
Being attractive on television doesn't give you any street cred at 7, Erin.
I say keep her off any promotion material until she learns to put on her big girl panties and respect her co-workers.
I second that 11:12 AM.
9:32 PM Thanks for pointing that out. I thought the same thing. Their dentists and orthodontists should be proud.
I didn't realize Erin was that kind of person. Obviously, you can't tell from the other end of the TV.
The way these things usually go is that either she goes or you do.
If you are a photographer, you could always just make her look bad every day, but make sure not to do it so bad you get in trouble. Just never go above and beyond.
If you are a producer it's harder. You can't really mess up a script on purpose. But you can make her feel unwelcome socially.
Or you could just not do anything and either put up with it or leave yourself. I suggest the latter, because there is much more money and respect out there for us former tv newsies.
KATV and many other stations prefer quantity over quality. There are statistics posted on Nick Genty's office door indicating how well any given newsroom employee does in social media. The numbers of course all revolve around quantity. So if there are two reporters and one constantly posts stuff like 'just took a shit, need to drink less coffee', that guy does better in the eyes of Genty and Thomas than anyone supplying less frequent but more relevant posts.
Erin is not popular with us production crew folks either. Yesterday she made a ridiculous demand to tape an intro to her sweeps story that airs today between the 5 and 6. As if we have nothing better to do! What a dumbshit idiot blonde!
^^^^^ I nominate for post of the year!!!
I like that post too! But I don't know if she's a bitch or a dumbshit. She may be too dumb to know she's a bitch.
She sounds about as popular as a porcupine at a balloon festival.
So many folks trying to stir 7's pot. Erin has fit in great. She's great on air and has already turned some good news pieces. If 9:10 is really production at 7, then you are a lazy ass, because you don't have anything more to do. And for 1:05 comment, nothing on the News Director's door but sweep sheets. Go back to your hole.
I don't care about the production crew. As a viewer Erin is hott. Haven't watched the weekend news this much ever. She's a 5 star. The production crew is jr college transfer.
Erin Is Hot If I was Memphis Tenn i would get her when her contact is up
Thanks Erin.
I'll go there. Erin your boobs are too small. There, hope your ego is busted.
I've only seen her from across the pond, but yes she seems very conceded. Sorry channel 7 friends.
I think you mean conceited. But agreed.
She may be a hottie, but she's also an asshole. That makes her much less attractive in my opinion.
Erin, welcome to the Arkansas media tank. If you can't make it, then trash those who do.
a better welcome would be: "welcome to the arkansas media tank, it's great from the top but sucks at the bottom - unfortunately you are in the middle"
And I don't know Erin and have no idea if she is a bitch.
If you are a college degreed intelligent producer making 25K - and a hottie anchor, making who knows what, expects you to kowtow just because she happens to look good on tv - you are going to take offense. That's just the facts of life.
It's not just producers. I'm a reporter and she's offended me as well. I won't use insults because that's childish - I'll just say she is a smart mouth.
I don't know her, but I think it's funny that she co-anchors a show with Todd and people call her conceited! She must be a problem in some way.
She's probably having trouble understanding her role. She might think she is part management because she is on the desk. That isn't usually the case in this town. Yes anchors are set apart, but they are not in charge.
And I am an anchor. I understand I'm not in charge, but am thankful for my position.
Lets just put it this way every girl that works at ch. 7 is hot.
As someone who works with Erin, I can tell you she's made our newsroom a tougher place to work. Either she goes or we go...
That station could never make it without her. Oh wait, yeah they did...
7:58, GO!! I dare you. Loser.
You really might be happier if you go. If you aren't an anchor, this business is terrible for just about every other position. Why put yourself through that? I'm not sure about the problem with the new girl, but I'm positive you'll be happier when you don't have to see her every day.
It sounds like someone made a mistake in hiring her. It happens. And she really looks the part so it was probably an easy mistake to make. Live and learn. Weekend anchors don't have a history of longevity in this town.
I guess we will know if it was a mistake or not when the numbers come out.
Numbers? Is that all that matters? I look at this and weep for the future of TV news. I think I speak for most all of us former TV news folks when I say this all used to be a lot more fun. Sorry for what you all have to go through.
Probably the reason you are a former TV person. Weep away.
@1:13 PM The state of broadcasting is nothing to cry over. Yes, it used to be very fun, but not any more. Broadcasting as a whole sucks now.
@2:45 PM Like thousands of others you will also be joining us as a "former TV person." The way broadcasting is going it will be sooner then think.
i feel bad for all TV Folks Behind the camera Broadcasting is getting harder and harder every day
With the Net and cell phones why do we even need the news for now
Weather is all a viewer needs now a days
Weather? I'm sorry but I have not needed the news for weather info in about 8 years. Got my weather app and it works great. It also tells me what I need to know faster and instantaniously. Before that I just used the internet on my computer. It wasnt as convenient but it was also more effective.
I agree with weather not being important anymore, but I know it's going to be a long time before stations stop emphasizing it. It's just been engrained as the most important thing for so long now.
It started with girls in go-go boots sticking magnets on the board and now we presume to "save lives" with our expert info.
In any case, I'm with the previous poster. I don't need a tv meteorologist to save my life. I'll just use my weather.com app on my phone. Don't know what I'd do without it - it's a life-saver!
I'm in my early 20's and got into this business by accident. Just let me say that none of my friends watch the news. That includes for weather or sports. Why should they? We already know what happened, it came on twitter 5 hours earlier.
Like I said, I got into all this by accident and this is not my career. But for some of you it is your career. What are you going to do in 10 years? I say shame on your college professors for not telling you how this wasn't going to be a good choice for a degree.
Just think, the ones who think they are such superstars may soon be asking if you want a hot apple pie with that.
I don't think it's going to come to that. Anchors who don't do much have time to network with people who have money. They are fine. It's photographers and producers I feel bad for. In a word: Replaceable.
@ 2:44 PM
Mr. Kroc, I am so glad to see you have come back after 28 years and 6 weeks of death. Now that you're back can you please get your company and franchisees back in line? They are terrible and forced me over to BK and Wendy's.
If you want horse burgers from BK or finger chili from Wendy's, that's your choice. The thought of it makes me want to roll over in my grave.
That's better then the "compare to beef" crap your place is dishing out.
