New Anchor Line up at THV Spurs More Questions Than Answers

Hmmm, so from what I can gather the new anchor team is Matt, Dawn, Ed and Mark. BUT like some viewers are pointing out where is Craig and Liz?  Where do they fit in the picture.  I didn't catch the evening newscasts but will the 10pm program.  Still a lot of questions rather than answers at this point but I guess we will all find out what happens to Craig and Liz.

UPDATE: Matt Turner just said Liz and Craig are "off tonight".

As a viewer, I thought I had finally found a news channel I could watch. That changed when Matt said Liz and Craig were off.

If they are added to the 5, 6, and 10 news, I won't be watching.

WTF is going on over there? Craig and Liz will be here throughout the week according to Matt?

Not sure what happening over there. But for crying out loud just sit in your chair at the anchor desk. The musical sets between reporters at 5 and 6 is a horrible format. Look at us we are in the newsroom, look at us we are at the monitor. NOOO! For goodness sake, just sit at the damn desk and report the news!!!

All we know is Craig will move to the a.m. newscast soon. We are not sure about Liz and Dawn but I thought Matt was very good on his first night and he looks very good on the desk with Dawn.

If I had to guess, Craig and Liz probably had the day off with it being Labor Day and all. It makes sense. Now the 4 weeknight anchors thing.....not so much.

I lnow it's only fair to give the new anchor, Matt, a chance & know he is top rated from NWAR....but I found him kind of flat. I like Craig's charisma, warmth, & passion. When Matt said "I'd be pulling those suckers out" in reference to kids getting up to $20 a tooth from the "tooth fairy" it didn't work because if he's going to make a comment like that...in a dry humor way, it needed just the quickest of a smile with it. Don't care how he "looks" next to Dawn, it's news at the end of a business day. Time for serious news and then the not so stories, as in the current price for teeth. Just hope he can find the right delivery for each.

Matt, Dawn and Ed worked ... will get better. Liz needs to move to weekends and Craig to mornings. They are really starting to struggle in the AM. Their sets (all time slots) are far too DARK. Lighten the place up, class it up and it will look and feel better.

I think the guy is doing a hell of a job. He is better then I thought he would be. When is Craig changing to the morning shift?

Disagree. He acts like a stiff, nervous wreck. He's disappointing so far.

I think he brings some professionalism to 11. Some of the goofy crap that goes on on the newscasts isn't so professional.

It's Matt and Craig at 10. Liz is off.

Where in the world is Dawn? This is crazy! Stop the anchor go round please!!! Are you just trying to ship every viewer to another station? Omg!

Dawn was on at 5. Don't know about 6.

Craig reported a water main break @ 14th & Sycamore tonight. To my knowledge, there isn't an address like that in Little Rock. There is however one in North Little Rock.Just sayn

Agree...w/ the "stiff, nervous wreck" description. As an experienced anchor, he should have that part down already. On the 5pm slot on Tues...Dawn projected professionalism & confidence. The new guy, Matt, seemed ill at ease. It made me uncomfortable watching him. I sincerely wish him the best, but the guy lacks charisma, in my opinion.

@ 1:16a

That's what you get for letting a talking head report the news that was not at the scene.

Everyone I ask about Matt said they like him a lot and they say he is doing a fantastic job. I am curious where those negative comments come from, probly the competition.

Thanks Matt. "probly" is not a word by the way.

So far Matt has looked kind of uncomfortable on air, but lets give him a little time to build chemistry with Dawn.

I know Matt and work at another station. Matt is a journalist! He bring credit to the anchor desk that Craig doesn't have or ever will.

wow, I hope they don't pay you to write copy.

Once again, Matt didn't look well- prepared at the news desk. Look at the camera and put some warmth in your eyes.

I was one commenter, a viewer who happens to be from larger markets. I have 30 years in a professional role, where I too, am sometimes judged by the perceptions of how I communicate & come across to others. As a professional WITH experience, the expectations are always there, that I can deliver. "Perception IS reality" until proved otherwise. The guy came with experience, he is not "green" & should be able to project confidence, even if he doesn't feel it 100%.....it shouldn't show. A President of a company once told me...."if they like you as a person...they will buy from you." No different in broadcasting, if your viewers like you, they will tune into you. At least he's not getting scrutinized for his hairstyle, clothing, & makeup...as all the female anchors do! Still wish him well & hope the first perception will change. We do want to like him!!

Hey, I know that poor writing style anywhere! Justin Lewis, everybody!

Matt Turner was really laid back while working for KNWA in a market that is very laid back in a alot smaller market compared to central Arkansas. So that is why his humor is very dry and also he used to have Dan Skoff from KNWA do all of the humor on KNWA and Matt Turner used to build off of that.

That's about normal for a broadcast journalist.

So says the guy working in print because he couldn't make it on tv.

Well, at least he/she is educated to the point that they can spell and doesn't have to put up with all that "I'm on TV and I am a celebrity" crap.
