Anchor-Go-Round Continues at 11
One can only wonder what the thinking is behind KTHV's/Channel 11 anchor go round. Matt Turner officially began at the station as the main anchor for 5,6, and 10..along with Dawn Scott. Ever since then it's been a guessing game on who viewers will find at the anchor desk. Just like today it's Liz and Dawn and Ed in the studio with Matt out and about being a reporter. Now we ask where is Craig! For the station's sake we hope this doesn't continue. I think 11 realizes it has too many anchors and doesn't want to rock the boat in getting rid of someone.

The great thing about THV is they can get rid of just about anyone other than Dawn and it will be an improvement.
TAKE JESSICA DUFF OFF THE AIR! Why is management letting her do sports? I heard she begs for what she wants and apparently it's working. She's so incredibly bad.
I was trying to find my remote when craig intro'd her to file a report. she's a behind the scenes person!
I'm finished with THV. Absolutely finished. Who is running things? Better yet, who isn't running things? THV ratings will continue to erode. I'd rather tune into channel 4 to have Jessica Dean scream the news to me, or endure 7's embarrassingly old set before I subject myself to THV Difference which stands for who the he'll knows your going to get when or where.

Another thing that makes me mad about Jessica Duff is her very vocal support of the University of Tennessee, where she went to school. We get it. But it is annoying in this market--people don't give a rat's behind about your stupid Vols. Go work in Tennessee if you want to talk Vols. But she probably could never get a job on air there, so it was back to Arkansas.
I am wondering why they are building up P Baccam. Pairing her up with the 2 male anchors during different live shots, interesting!!!! Are they testing audience reaction. Here's my opinion; ARE YOU CRAZY???????????
I've given up trying to figure out what they are doing. I'm not sure anyone over there knows what's going on anymore either. Some of the decisions lately are quite frankly beyond explanation.
Ashley should be the 10pm anchor with Matt!!!
Even with all the stupid decisions made lately I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to try that.
As a viewer, I wonder who makes the decision what stories are reported and the order they are reported. It certainly isn't their importance I have watched KARK most of my life so it's a habit to watch their 5 O'clock news, Their lead story was the Razorback game. Then I get to see those telephone operators.There was a bank robbery today in Benton and not a word about it during the entire newscast. I really need to start watching another station. So disappointed in KARK.46

Ashley doesn't have the looks but she is a talented journalist. I'd say she puts THV's crop of reporters to shame.
I disagree with the above posters. I will start that I do not work in TV nor do I personally known anyone still working in it. But I think Ashley to be an atractive lady. I would put her ahead of Jessica Dean or Duff as well as Alyse.
I agree. Whoever keeps saying that Ashley is not pretty needs to have their eyes checked. She is better looking than anybody on 7 for that matter. Why don't people bring them up?
That must be a joke. Is Ashley pretty? No. Is she decent? Yes. She and Liz round out THV's unattractive anchor list. My hubby and I can'genet past her giant mole, roots, or teeth. Her mama must be taking up for her on here.
As far as 7 goes, not all are pretty but that don't have distracting features (listed above) that jump out at you.
Are all the evening THV anchors required to now take turns going live?
I think Matt is doing a great job! For the first week, I'm impressed.
I'm choosing not to comment on her looks, but I will say that Ashley and a few others at 11 need serious wardrobe and makeup help. It matters!
Dawn Scott is the only good looking person of either sex on THV
Actually the prettiest anchor in Arkansas is on KATV - Beth Hunt.
Sarah Fortner is the prettiest lady on THV. No contest.
Alyse is gaining weight. It was VERY noticeable this morning (especially in her chin). I know she just got back from vacation but her next trip needs to be to the gym.
If you call her big, I only wish I was "big" too. Looks aren't something she needs to worry about, she's beautiful. Credible journalism chops? That's a different story.
I really wonder if she sets a precedent. Is this really going to be the way it is now? Just be pretty enough to be on air and that's it? I agree she is doing fine as far as reading the news goes, but she really doesn't know much about journalism. Couldn't she put the station in legal danger for that reason? Or will it be someone else's fault for not telling her maybe? I could see that happening. It's like when they blame an editor when a reporter flubs a line in a package and it makes air.

I didn't say she was big, just that she was gaining weight. If she doesn't get it under control, she will be (big) though.
I wouldn't be pointing the finger at THV for possible legal danger. Careful,now.
Pointing a finger? There are laws that she doesn't know much about, and she's in a position to break them at will. This is very shoddy hiring practice.

She was hired as a morning personality, not a news reporter. Exactly what laws are you referring to? She doesn't report news, so therefore she is not in danger of breaking any libel or slander laws, if that's what you mean. Geez. Get off her back.
3:29 what's funny is that she's probably less of a liability than the majority of reporters and a few of the anchors at THV. They aren't exactly overflowing with good talent over there.

Loving Matt the new guy on 11! lol. Funny the other night when he said on THV2 about something in the script being worded weird... Liz just looked at him oddly as he repeated it and said he wouldnt have worded it like that!!!! Love Sarah F on the Weather! Love how not the same ole $hit from Ed or Tomthumb! I think that Matt seems to know more about SPORTS than Mark or Wess Moore for that point. Loving his tweets about the sports stuff! Very GOOD MOVE GETTING HIM!!!!
I wonder if Ashley is still married to the goofball who was a sports guy on 11 for a while. FUGLY think he went to doing his own thang like a video taping kind of business. I remb one time he was laughing so hard during a shot on THV2 saying that some guy got hit in the NUTS with a football. Was kinda funny but wonder if thats why he left shortly afterwards.

I know 7 and 11, and maybe 4 sent some reporters to a storytelling workshop this week. That's a good sign that they are working at improving thier product. Anyone know which reporters they sent?
Janelle Lilly and Lisa Hutson went. I think that was a good call. Did anyone else go? I saw recently that 7 hired a new reporter. Jeanette something. What market did she come from?

I'm guessing someone is playing games with that Jeanette comment. Obviously she didn't come from any market. This is her first job. But she's black and KATV ordered a black girl now that Pam Smith is gone.
Ordered? KATV has hired a lot of minorities in the past two years. I think Jeannette is solid on air. Better than some reporters that have been in the market for years.
