Regular blog posts will resume when sweeps are over...I am refusing to watch any local news programs while the crazy stories and especially all the contests are going on. Sweeps time has turned into nothing more than a circus....

The stunting on 7 this month has been a joke. You have to admit it's over the top. I work for an ad agency and there is no way their daybreak numbers will be accurate. People are watching to win in May, and they will turn it back to 11 when they aren't being "paid" to watch.
They won in November by "giving away the store." And lost ground in February by not having the stunts. In May, more stunting which means they may win. I agree with the statement above. If you can't beat 'em, buy 'em.

Pretty sure 11 knows as long as 7 is paying viewers to watch, they will win. 4 would win if they were giving away what 7 has given away in May for crying out loud.
First off I'm an 11 viewer but you guys have obviously never been outside AR. Top ten markets give much bigger stuff away. I don't think the giveaways help out that much but the bottom line is if you're cheap to play ball stay on the sidelines.
It seems like the Channel 11 morning folks who routinely post here are already getting their excuses ready. Pathetic.

It may take a few books but Tom and the girls at 11, along with the cat, will put 11 in the top spot again. They may have to claw and scratch, but they'll make it. And no, I am not in TV either, but I know one of them, and that one is driven with grit and determination.
It takes more than grit and determination. You have to actually be good, neither of them are.

the list is not correct in that it's 2003-2004. but LR is still in the mid 50's as far as market size and only one a few in the top 70 that are not metered.
Because none of the stations want to pay for it.

There's a big difference in giving away passes to Riverfest and giving away $500 cash, a beach vacation and a $2000 lawn mower, and promoting the heck out of until it's plain obnoxious.

I did. I watched cable all night.
Channel 11 had the fastest election results followed closely by Channel 7. 4 was waaaaay behind.7 had the best overall coverage. 7 was the only station to show Rankin and Cotton speeches at the end of the night.4's 10:00 news was bad with live reporters not ready and anchors not knowing where they were going next. I also noticed Bill Vickery jumped from 4 to 7. Wut up wit dat? I like Channel 11 usually, but their election coverage was not good.
I don't think it was Vickery's choice.

KARK has not made a good decision since it became a Nexstar station.
KARK was doing pretty well for awhile. I was actually rooting for the underdog. But, it seems they have lost their way. Sad.
Another past KARK employee running their mouth. I actually think they have great pieces in place to be better than they have been in a very long time. Oops!! I work here now and think we are on the right track. I feel a team atmosphere with my co-workers.

When I think of KTHV talent that "sucks"...no way any of the morning show makes the list. Jessica Duff, both Laurens, and Meredith Mitchell top the list. And I work at 11.
You don't get to almost be Miss America if you are lacking negotiating skills. My guess is that Alyse was able to negotiate more than peanuts for a salary even if she was negotiating with the master shark, Larry.
Obviously she is not stupid. I have a relative in the pageant circuit and negotiating skills have nothing to do with advancing in the Miss America pageant system. For Alyse to advance with in the MIss America system she had to be smart. She had to have good grades, and she had to be a great ass kisser. If she was a dumb ass with bad grades she would have been in the Miss USA pageant system.

What numbers are you using to compare? You act like one of the stations dominate. If you look across all newscast the three stations are pretty close. The difference use to be a lot greater. By the way, all of you are losing. Total news shares are at an all time low. You better quit bickering and focus on creating news viewers.
