KATV is advertising a new Daybreak morning show person in October that looked like Chris Kane the sports person with no Barry Brandt.
It is interesting they are pulling from the sports team.
Is Barry leaving or just doing the Noon time show?

I thought Pamela Smith was going to be on Daybreak? Did she leave channel 7 altogether??
KATV broadcast the football game tonight between ASU and UCA and the picture quality was below SD. It was in wide screen but the resolution was pitiful. The score box located in the upper left corner of the screen was unreadable. C'mon guys, spend some money on your football game telecasts. I'll be if it was a Hog game it would have been in HD.
Yeah the picture was pretty pathetic. Then again it was KATV, last in HD. Glad it wasn't a PPV game

They are doing the best they can. At lest they stay out of the hot tub!

The satellite truck providing the feed from the game had some sort of equipment failure, as I understand. Add to that the screwed up chain of command @ KATV and NO contingency plan for dealing with a sat feed loss, and you get what happened last night.
I heard they aired the game in Ft. Smith as well. Who paid for the production or did KATV do it for free because it would've missed up other stations.
The UCA ASU game was not shot by KATV, they just aired it.
A guy that looks like Chris Kane is moving to the morning show? That's because it is Chris Kane.
KATV hired a new weekend sports anchor.
Musical Chairs is going on at every station:
Jancey basically being pushed out at 4.
Alyse and Ashley joining KTHV, basically pushing Melissa Dunbar Gates out.
Justin Early Leaving Fox and bringing in a new guy.
KARK getting a new met as two left.
KATV moving Pamela Smith, Heather Crawford and soon Chris Kane.
This is the new age of TV.
You use to be raised watching one anchor, now people aren't getting paid so they at least want a better shift or more days off or whatever.
All I've seen in the Little Rock market for several years has been change, too often. Some are better decisions than others.
Stephanie Simone is a hottie and much better to look at than Allison Courtney.

That's what happens when you use leftover parts and hand me downs from the sister stations. KATV will NEVER get modern equipment as long as it is owned by the people that currently own it and as long as Bozo The Clone is GM.
The LAST thing they are going to do is spend money on anything in the way of MODERN equipment! Not while they have that vacation house in the Bahamas to pay for.
The best thing that could happen to KATV is if the ancient wiring would give out and go up in flames and burn the place to the ground and the insurance (if they have any) would rebuild the station from the ground up.
Stereo? what's THAT??? Oh, well... just add another VU meter to the board and everyone will think it's stereo!

She's got a job for life after she rightfully sued the shit out of the station after they bypassed her for some blonde bimbo as anchor several years back.
I thought she should have owned the station after that crap happened.

The triumverate of blonde on KARK over the weekend was the best. Jessica, Tracy, and Keri rock!
If KARK cannot win the weekends with the Tres Amigas Bonitas, then they might as well close the doors.

I doubt KATV will make her a met since they already have the most meteorologist in the local market.

Pamela Smith bored me back to sleep this morning filling in on Daybreak. Yawn....
There will always be "musical Chairs" at television and radio stations. Most on-air people tend to drift from town to town. Sales, Production, and Engineering are the most stable employees and tend to not have to move every few years.
There is also more drifting across the board because people and job positions aren't paying out like they used to.
It's the whole MMJ mentality, I pay you less to do more or you can leave because I'll find someone young and stupid to do it with a little training. They might not be as good as you, but they're cheap!
You have to keep moving to get a hefty pay raise, none of that cost of living $200, $500 to $1,000 extra a year.
Greg Dee's speech impediment drives me crazy as well. I can't concentrate on what he's saying because of how he says it.
Greg Dee definitely has speech problems. It's difficult to try to listen to him. I usually just change channels.
