Tracy Douglass filled in tonight at KARK as it continues its search for a new met to join the team. I wonder why Nexstar doesn't hire her for the job.....
Just did some research and she's not even a Met. KARK needs to pull an already local established Met over to the station. Sure they might have to dish out the big bucks but would be worthwhile because otherwise you are gonna have 3 unknown Mets on the air.

According to KARK, Jancey has left as anchor toi do special reports and subbing as anchor. She wanted to spend time with her family. I think they drove her out, because who would want to lose hours in our economy?
I am not surprised. That is the same "story" they have used the past couple of years at their sister stations.
Tracy is terrible and I can not watch Darby because he is also terrible. KARK please get someone worth watching, or can least put more than 3 words together.
Jancey said on her facebook page she was doing medical and special reports from time to time. That post has since been deleted.

Tracy does do well on air but she is trying too hard to look 25 years old and that just doesn't cut it. Cut that hair and act your age.
Tracy, you are very good at doing weather, but you need to dress age appropriately. Cut or at least trim your hair and no more cheerleader skirts.

Well, having trained Beth Ward, she does look young for her age. Getting some of that big hair cut would make her look even younger. Maybe go with something with a flip.

I'd like to see them snag Tood Y from KATV. I think he does a great job. And I, for one, feel sorry for Darby. With the BC situation, he got thrown to the wolves after only a week or so on camera. So much for taking his time to get comfortable. Tracy is ok, but agree that she needs to stop trying to turn back the clock. There's nothing wrong with being over 40.

Well, well, well. It looks like Nexstar is taking this new Met position very seriously. I was just on the Nexstar web site, and see the new Met position is going through Terri Bush, head of HR at corporate. In all the years I've worked for Nexstar I haven't known them do this. Met positions have always been handled by the local station.
Hum, that's interesting. Your right, I haven't seen corporate do the hiring at this level before. Just at the management level.
I agree with some of the previous posts that we should hire someone already known here, and not bring in someone from another market.

Where did you hear Ed was looking to leave KTHV? I heard he was happy there and they pay him well to keep it that way.
KARK should shop around for a eunuch for their next met.

EVEN, Even if Ed Buckner wanted to leave Gannett would sue him. Even if he did live up to a 6-month noncompete. He's been with that station too long and made a trusting name that makes people turn to Ch 11 for severe weather.
The thing is people leave because they're not getting paid, but they'd buy any local stations asking price.
He's the only one at Today's THV that's worth it, that's the simply truth.
Off topic, but is Hubert Tate possibly the most annoying anchor/reporter in this market? I can't stand watching him!

WOW! After Mike Frances left, KARK went to heck! I loved Mike! That's when I stopped watching KARK. I was so sorry to hear about Brett Cummins. People are so cruel. My prayers are with him. Now I heard Jancey is gone! KARK needs to examine itself. Doesn't sound like they treat their people well, or show compassion. Very sad.
Maybe since Wes is working week-ends during football season he is working less during the week. I don't understand why Ed is off almost as much as he is on.
Ed Buckner probably has, what? 4-weeks vacation. Maybe more.
Also, when your contract is up (like Wes Moore) if they don't offer you money, they can offer you more days off and so on until there is an agreement.

It doesn't take a "met" to read the weather forecast. KTHV proves that every day. Mets are soon to be replaced by just a regular talking head (anchor)who will simply read the info from the NWS off the computer. Money saved.

Ha! You can say that again. Meredith Mitchell anyone? HORRIBLE! I learned a long time ago to just change the channel when she is on the air.
Just when I thought KARK dumpted Tracy, I was glad to see her back on the air. I thought they may have dumped her because of her age. I hope to see more of her on air. She has been in our area for a long time and brings her down to earth personality to her broadcasts. Some things just get better with age and she one of them.

I'm SO glad someone else has noticed this! She seems to have a bit of a gut. BTW: she's a little bitty lady and I've heard she runs regularly, so perhaps the pooch is from having a child? She's from Little Rock I understand and her Facebook page shows her with a nice looking fellow in several pictures.
One more things: I swear her clothes she wears on air look like either hand-me-downs from her granny or home made. Some of them just don't look right at all.
She's really energetic and not bad to look at, and I like her work.
