Good luck wfmy.
So, THV drifts rudderless?
I bet they are have a "Garden Party" tonight!
So what can we expect here in Greensboro?
Read the archives, pucker up and act accordingly.
Good bye and good riddins. Don"t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. First in the market to be a total pain in the ass. Look out NC and watch the people flock out of WFMY like they did here in LR. Oh wait, stay here in LR and be part of the family, because we are a family orientated station....and we'll offer you a small incentive to stay!!!!
Best thing about his departure is....HE"S GONE!!!!!!
I guess I'm one of a handful of people that liked Larry..I like Craft better though. Hope they stay with him.
What can you expect in Greensboro? Micro management at best. Department heads that can't run their own departments - just implement Larry's bad ideas. A total distain for the sales force. In a nutshell, Larry is a corporate guy who will blindly do what corporate wants him to do even if it is not for the good of your station or your audience.
He came to a solid #1station that was well respected in the market and because of his mismanagement today's thv is no longer #1 or respected in the market yet he was "promoted"? I really hope Gannett wakes up soon.
I ditto whoever said "GOOD RIDDANCE"...What can you expect with Gennett? They are the skum of the earth.
Larry is leaving KTHV as the station who leads with the most AP Awards. Job Well Done.
I was asking 'bout expectations for Greensboro from a viewer's perspective. There is plenty of room for improvement at WFMY, wondering if we might see things get better or worse. The insider's perspective is interesting.

I'm not really sure that one can base success solely by the number of Associated Press Awards won - especially when only three out of the four broadcast affilliates participate.
Has Wess Moore left KTHV? His bio is no longer on the website
Larry the other stations in the market will miss you
Wess' bio is back up. The date it was reposted is from this month.
I guess they took Alyson Courtney's name out of it and just put he is married.
My thought.
THV really needs a homegrown, Arkansan for a GM. They already have too many "outsiders" running things and their ratings have suffered. The smartest thing they could do is hire somebody like David Craft who has been very loyal to THV and knows the LR tv market. What works somewhere else may not work here- proof is in ratings.
David Craft went to Ch. 7 for a bit in the distant past.
I agree, David Craft is well respected in this market and would be a great leader! He knows all the ins and outs of every department. I VOTE DAVID CRAFT!
In time, David might be a good GM. But does THV have time to spare? No disrepect to David, but I think Leslie Heizman would be the wise choice.
The news product has hit rock bottom at THV. Audas destroyed it. They need someone with an in-depth understanding of what it takes to have a successful news product in this market. THV once had a winning formula, but lost its way. Improve content and promotions and the ratings will follow. Improve ratings and the revenue will increase.
I am sure left Leslie Heizman left Gannett and 11 for a reason. She probably found out that life is better outside the television world.
The problem just like when a U.S. President gains office is things don't get better over night and people blame the current person who takes office saying they're not doing anything etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if they let him be interim for a while and then bring in a corporate person to shake things up.
It's not like he is going to be able to get rid of the teenagers MMJing right now or MMJs period, that's a corporate move. I don't even know if he is for the MMJ thing though, he might be.
With the one we have now things will never get better until he is voted out.
I consider one and all should look at it.
It won't work in actual fact, that is exactly what I suppose.
