This from the tip box: KTBS has hired a new weekend meteorologist. With this new addition, KTBS has become the first in the market with four licensed meteorologists.

And she's not half bad looking either.

They do not have four. Skip is freelance, so he's not full time. Give it up KTBS, you're hurting.

They're hurting in the ratings if that's what you mean.I hear KSLA has widened their lead in the ratings this book. Guess people are not impressed with fancy new sets and graphics. The management at KTBS continues in the wrong direction, and have no idea what the audience wants.

Actually, "more people turn to KTBS for news, weather, and sports" according to the Nielsen ratings...KSLA doesn't have the key 9pm news which many watch.

For "freelance", Skip sure is on a lot.

The new Met is very attractive. Maybe she will stick around for a while. She looks very young. So does any one know if this is her first job out of school?

To the 2:06 PM comment. Nielsen Ratings have never been truly accurate. That sounds like something George would say.

Yeah I agree. That is exactly like George.

What a shame Skip is just freelance. He's such a tasty little treat.

This is the new met's first job out of college from UNC Asheville. She doesn't know what she's doing yet, but hopefully will come into her own after working the ridiculous hours she signed up for.

It really shows too. Poor girl, she has no idea what she is in for.

I still don't understand why people think KTBS has horrible hours. I know some employees, and they are happy with their job.

To 8:47 a.m., give it up. The last girl that worked that job worked herself sick, literally. Stop spending so much time trying to pump up a deflated station. They ran off so many good people and veterans in 2010. Focus on the product. If you're in the news department there, that's what you SHOULD be doing. Because 'upstairs' is focused on the numbers and you could be next out the door.

Have you watched their news lately? Management has been hiring people fresh out of college (or people who have never been to college) and it shows. You have to have experience to make it in this market, which is why the other two stations are improving in the ratings and KTBS is going backwards. But that's what can happen when you have unqualified people in so many management positions, they might hire other unqualified people to make themselves feel better, I guess.

Other two??? Haha.. KTAL has been third in the ratings forever!

As bad as KTAL is at least it is not alienating and pissing off it's viewers like KTBS is with all of the new untrained, and inexperienced children it has now.

Plus that new system the director has to run the newscast solo is horrible. Since that was installed I have not seen a single newscast that did not have any visible screw ups.

Hope the new weather-gal doesn't catch the attention of one of the owners who got in a sticky-bind with a weather-blonde some years back.

Just watched her Sunday afternoon and night. She is AWFUL! I'm not even really sure how she has the AMS Seal. She was all sorts of confused about everything and she has terrible ad-libbing skills.

KTAL's weekend guy is terrible as well. Kevin Roth at KSLA is actually very good and seems to have good experience with doing weather.

Her lower-third also displayed the "Seal of Approval" from the AMS.

Checking the list (http://www.ametsoc.org/memdir/seallist/get_listoftv.cfm), she isn't listed.

Besides, she can't earn that seal anymore because it isn't given out. And she just graduated college so she had no "experience reel" to submit. Terrible hire, KTBS!

Hey lack-of-credibility hasn't stopped KTBS before. Besides they're probably just using whatever is loaded in the CG filestore for the other weathercasters.
