New Anchor/Reporter Coming to KNWA
This from a tipster: Mickey Goodwin will be leaving us Nov. 9th to pursue another opportunity in the wonderful world of news. She will be joining KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas as an anchor/reporter. She will be starting on weekends there, but should work her way up quickly. She will not have to one-man band. She will not have to produce. She likes this.Mickey has been with us since August of 2004. She has served in just about every role here at WBBJ-TV in the news department. She's reported, produced, anchored every single show we have. That's a lot.

Glad to know she's leaving We Basically Babble in Jackson (WBBJ). Hopefully, she'll be in Little Rock soon. Glad to see her leave market 174 (note, she is moving up 72 markets). She was the lone bright spot on that pothetic station. Good to see another babe moving to NWA.
Good move for her, I'm sure. She'll probably bounce up to Little Rock as soon as she can.
Not too impressed by the whole "every newscast" thing at market 174 though. Practically everyone in markets that small have to do it all at one time or another.
So I take it Alexa Hamblin is officially out the door! Has she found another gig yet? I doubt it.
I hope Alexa leaves for bigger and better things. She deserves it

This is the best new hire to the market in a very long time. I have heard about several good changes inside this station in the past few weeks. Now let's see if they continue.
This woman seems a little over qualified for KNWA. I wonder how she feels about working alongside Dana "drop out" Sargent or Kelly "crappy anchor beauty queen" George.
WBBJ girl will set the bar high for herself, and she gained her respect in this business. They need to move the beauty queen off mornings and let this woman take over. The beauty queen needs to learn that life isn't about looking pretty and reading a prompter. The chick needs to learn how to report and cut packages with a deadline.
This new girl is going to be good, but not as good as Ashley Ketz or Tiffany Stewart.
Seen the gal's clips on WBBJ's Web site, she does a pretty good job (given the resources the station has)... although it is telling that she's moving up 70+ markets, yet will have similar resources (or lack of) there.
Her talent is WAY above Tiff or Ashley. I would like to see how you grade.

Well, what about that 30-minute infomercial on KARK every day at 11:30 a.m.? I just know people love to eat lunch and listen to a doctor (that has to advertise to get business) talk about taking someone's gall bladder out the easy way.

I don't understand why Sarge gets so much love. She's a dropout, her hair is fried, she has clown eyebrows and her nose is crooked...gross.
Not to mention she has the personality of a cardboard box.
I'm sorry, but Goodwin was stuck in Jackson. She's been wanting to leave for a long time, but no one else would have her. While she is okay to look at, she's a bit of a b****. Sure, WBBJ has an awful news product, but when you have a hard time moving up from there, you're just not that good. I'm not sure if she actually got a college degree from Valdosta State, but I do know that she attended there for at least three or four years. She's really not that good...

LOCAL TELEVISION NEWS:
A 30 or 60 minute space filled with promos, commercials, and actor "wannabes" wanting to be seen and heard.
Females at KNWA? This new woman at least looks like she has some type of clout. Most of the on air talent at KNWA have no personality or talent and rely on looks alone. They're all about just wearing expensive clothes, drinking diet coke and looking beautiful.
Ashley Ketz on the other hand, has plenty of personality AND clout without having a high and mighty attitude, unlike the KNWA pop star wannabes.

I think Neile is very attractive (very annoying on the air, but attractive)
I think Dana is really pretty (and she must as well, since she shows around an old photo of herself with brown hair and braces to show how she has "blossomed" into a lovely swan) but Dana's voice is about the most annoying I've heard. Both of those ladies would do well to have some voice coaching.
However I do not know the WBBJ chick, but would bet she'll be embarrassed in a few years about her "little people" remark. I would attribute her air of self-importance to youth, inexperience and a very small market.
...yeah, that's the funny thing, isn't it? You bitch about none of us knowing this people, when the truth is many of us know them quite well, work with them...hell, some of us are related. Thankfully, she doesn't read this trash or else she would know that the people that claim to be her friends, are not. Venting is a good way to label your backstabbing. Oh good lord. None of you have any clue as to what you're talking about. Dana and Neile are both good looking, but that isn't nearly as important as the fact that they really are talented and good, decent people. I haven't met many people nicer than either of them, and I'm happy to say I've met them both at functions. I hope Mickey's a great addition to the crew, and I'll miss watching Alexa.

my gosh! this poster needs some counseling. Yes, Neile is nice, to those she's not stabbing. As a journalist--not so sure. She said in a state-wide paper that she has a master's from Univ. of Oklahoma. Everyone who worked with her knows it's from Webster University on College Avenue. Maybe she just forgot.
Maybe these are a couple of reasons she's doing so well in this market.

Dana Sargent is so hot! None of the other news stations have girls hotter than her. I would say Ashley Ketz is close. I would put Ashley Beck up there but I've seen how she and Sarah Lasure behave out at the COWBOY in Ft. Smith. KFSM would not approve.

and by the way, are you serious about Anne Jansen? She's a longtime Little Rock anchor on the CBS affiliate. I remember her from the 80's---she's given a lot of years to that station and to that market. That doesn't happen often. I always liked her a lot--but guess back in that period of time, Carolyn Long got more attention.
You must not read this blog very often, 12:04. It gets very, very personal and very, very nasty all the time...and not only about the on-air folks. Their spouses and significant others get dragged into it. Even people who work in the newsroom but are not on-air get mentioned here by name in very mean-spirited and vengeful ways. The majority of these posts are not removed.
