Ginny is gone and so is the morning producer. Sad days for KNWA's morning show.

At 10:06 AM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

so what happened to the morning producer and ginny?

At 10:50 AM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I heard Ginny was fired and the morning producer was forced to resign. I also was told that KNWA had lost it's five o'clock producer and senior director. Wonder why.

Sure sounds like a nasty place to work.

At 11:53 AM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

umm.. i believe people get good in this market.. and find better paying jobs in better paying markets. I doubt it's nothing more than that. From what I see on tv, KNWA has a lot of talented people.

At 12:21 PM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't know if Ginny found another job, but I know the producer is going to a pretty large market.

We know Ginny got fired, but why? What did she do to get fired and told never to enter the building again?

That was a called firing! I called that firing!

ONCE AGAIN,why did Ginny get fired? Seemed very good on the air.

At 3:30 PM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wonder if they are opening the door for Melissa Simas (or Houston Nutt) at KNWA?

At 3:52 PM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

KNWA needs a complete overhaul in management, that's the bottom line. Instead of giving employees raises or competitive salaries, they spend their money on a new office for their GM. Maybe Ginny wanted out of her contract and the only way out was to get fired. Sounds like the plan others trapped into the Nexstar plan of non-dominance need to take as well.

I kept telling you people that she was no longer an employee, but NOOOO, I was told that I was rumor-mongering and that I didn't know what I was talking about and that she was just 'sick' and stupid crap like that.

You guys are a bunch of idiots.

At 8:29 PM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wonder why everyone on here hates their jobs and thinks the comp is even worse. Why don't you all just quit! Really, life is too short and you spend too much of your time at work to hate your jobs. Please quit!! Management is one thing but what is wrong with the way our business is now is our own fault. All we do is complain. Have you ever thought of trying to be a part of the solution instead of bitching about the problem?

At 10:17 PM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I used to work with Ginny. That girl is easier than a velcro shoe.

At 11:33 PM, December 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

And you know that how by working with her?

At 12:07 AM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The first part I'll buy but nobody even them would fire someone for having an issue like that. Come on! Don't be stupid. What is the real reason?

At 12:15 AM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I heard Dana Sargent was threatened by Ginny and what Dana wants, Dana gets.

At 12:21 AM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i wonder if it had anything to do with new postings of pictures on her myspace profile during the time she was supposedly "sick"?????

another win noble incident?

At 12:27 AM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Here's an idea...let's get someone who really knows to tell us instead of guessing. If there are as many unhappy people at KNWA as you say there are then use your "great" source to find out. It's a small staff so it shouldn't be hard.

At 10:48 AM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Believe me, Dana gets alot. And she knows what to do with it.

Ginny and Aaron Peters always got along well.

This myspace stuff has gotten a few knwa employees in trouble. First Mary Marsh and now Ginny. Why don't people have morals like Aaron Peters?

hey aaron's on myspace too :P

At 12:01 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

MySpace has nothing to do with anything. Whether it be Mary Marsh or Ginny Barksdale. Their news director has a MySpace account, too. Look up Scott Pickey, and voila! Why doesn't he get canned?

At 12:39 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Let me tell you that this market is not like LR. Management could care less about My Space accounts.

At 2:36 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i was only suggesting i thought it was interesting that maybe she was proven that she was faking her seizure and sickness by having some new pics posted on her account during the time she was "sick" and maybe a jealous employee turned her in.......i mean i'm sure it cost a lot of money to feed the morning show from kark up to knwa that day she was sick, and for a station that is so low on finances, i would imagine it made them mad that she faked it.....just a sugeestion, why else would she banned from the building told never to re enter again....either way, she may need to start her career up somewhere else, cause being reported as being banned and fired, not too good for someone who just graduated college and promoted to anchor in such a short time

At 3:37 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You people are just wrong. No one in their right mind would fake a seizure. Seizures take up lots of energy, seriously...and many people look fine just moments after having a seizure.

You don't have to be in the best health to take a photograph. Come on.

At 4:21 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

And I know if I was trying to recover from a seizure...I'd try to do something fun and relaxing, like update myspace photos. Requires little energy, and can lift your spirits. You people who keep insisting she faked it, deserve a seizure yourselves. Get a life empty of picking on others' misfortunes.

At 5:14 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is her myspace profile private like Aaron Peters and Dana Sargent? No big deal if it is, there is a simple way to view someone's private myspace profile. Dana and Aaron do have some naughty details on theirs.

At 5:16 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Does Aaron's myspace profile mention when he was blitzed and wrecked the station vehicle over at Channel 40/29?

i think the morning show will be good! i think that doug is a great addition and that the new producer is awesome as well....with a good attitude.....about time knwa got rid of all the cancer they had!

At 5:45 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

who is the new producer?

At 6:44 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ok let's go the other direction. What does Craig Cannon have on KHBS. This is one that should be fired. He has done everything that is on this blog that all have done combined and he still there. What's the deal?

At 7:12 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The new producer only got the job because he'll be submissive to what the news director wants. I guess sucking up gets you everywhere these days. As for the good attitude...I'd figure a couple months in the morning with THAT news director breathing down your neck would cause anyone to have a bad attitude. I hope that show tanks.

At 7:56 PM, December 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow...this board is pretty vicious. Worse than high school. Having worked on the KNWA morning show, I can verify most of what is here is rumor, as you would expect. The new producer will do fine, the old producer did fine. Who cares who's producing it anyway. As for Ginny, no one knows exactly why she got fired, but I would hope if any of you had a seizure, you'd be treated with more sympathy than she ever was. The show will not be any worse or better in the ratings. This is a market where you have one really old station, a moderately old station and a relatively new station, and over the next 50 years, maybe the ratings will be different.

Note to the people behind this blog:

What you say on your blog or in an online forum could get you sued for libel, and you might not be ready for it. Over 50 libel lawsuits have been filed in the last two years against those venting their thoughts online, with one lawsuit being successful and resulting in the blogger paying a fine of $50,000.

The lawsuits so far run the gamut from bloggers being sued over public gossip and commenting on people and their employment. Harming someone's reputation even behind anonymous postings can still be used against those running this site.

Often times the victims say that the accusations are false and that the spread of such information on the Internet is hurting their careers and reputations, such as in the case of lawyer Todd Hollis. As we reported last June, Hollis is suing the owner of DontDateHimGirl.com, as well as seven other women who have posted to the site, over what he claims are lies about his sexual orientation, STD status, and more. When searching for his name on the Internet, it's certainly hard to find any other information on him besides whether or not he has herpes. Few of us would want that attached to our names as the first hit on Google.

The 1996 Communications Decency Act protects web sites from being sued over content that is posted by users, but not from self-generated content. That could potentially put each and every blogger at risk for being targeted for libel if he or she cannot provide adequate proof to back up his or her words, something that journalists are required to do regularly.

Who cares about Damian Williams? An exclusive? He's just a punk. Just like his dad. Same as Beck Campbell and Rick Cleveland. For that matter just like Mitchell Mustain and Ben Cleveland. These parents are the same people who verbally abused volunteer teenage officals back when their kids somehow were always put on the youth teams growing up cause their parents would manipulate the drafts cause they had "so called power in Springdale". The other two need to transfer to, maybe to UAPB.

That's stupid. A lot of people care about D. Williams. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not a great story. I could say the same thing about T. Owens this weekend. He's an idiot but it lead all sport stories. Don't blame a kid for his parents.

5 won households across the boards in every show, 7 days a week.

Tell KNWA to pay me an actual LIVING WAGE - along w/ every other station in this market - and I'll ask for my old job back!

At 8:56 PM, December 24, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who is looking for a living wage in the news business? Sounds like a case of delusions about your career. As for Ginny getting the boot from KNWA - and the reasons behind it - nobody will know for sure. I heard from former coworkers that she got to be a real pain once she got the anchor spot. One of those "holier-than-thou" types who would whine about having to do any real work.
I also heard the old morning show producer was a tyrant who threw hissy-fits and cared more about Britney Spears than news.
Sometimes you just gotta take out the trash. Looks like that is what happened on the morning show.
