Former KLRT Sports Anchor Enters Police Academy
Former KLRT weekend Sports Anchor is one of 21 Little Rock Police Department recruits now undergoing training. A tipster says, "KTHV reported last night that the LRPD had 21 new recruits and they interviewed Officer Holgate, which explains the opening at fox16. He is also quoted in today's Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
"Justin Holgate, 32, left a career as a television journalist to join the class. “This is a chance for me to give back to the community,” Holgate said."

Justin Is a great guy. He WILL go far. Good Luck Justin.
It doesn't get any better than people like Justin Holgate.
He could give lessons to
"egotistical" tv news employees on the PROPER way to conduct oneself at work and in the public eye.
Justin is a true professional.
The police department is lucky to have him.
"Give em' hell, Justin!"
(smile)
I can't say that I'd do the same thing, but I have a lot of respect for him now.
Anyone that gives up a "glory" position for a grass roots job in the force is truly a great human being.
I agree. It is very honorable to chose police work over media. I just disagree with the title posting here "a career"...at KLRT 16. The turnover at independant stations is around 40% the first year of employment. that's not really a career is it?
I'm happy for Justin. I heard last summer that he was applying at the police department. This is the LRPD's gain and Cheap Channel's loss...
So, does anyone know who's in the running for his replacement?
I am not trying to be rude but I never thought he did a very good job. His voice is strange and the main sports anchor seems fake. But that's just me.
...yup...that's just "YOU."
Actually, for a sports department with half the resources (I should know, I work at a competitor) as everyone else, pains me to say, but they do a pretty bang up job. They're both really good guys aswell.
As for a replacement, I've heard they're still looking at tapes. My friend sent one in.
You people are crazy. That guy was extremely dull. I prefer Wes Moore
