Valentine's Day Surprise! Viewers Treated To On-Air Proposal at KHBS/KHOG

Cheryl Wasson, owner of Creative Events by Cheryl, was giving a live interview in Fort Smith, but was lovingly interrupted by Dave Healy, a Hometown News photojournalist and Cheryl's longtime love.

After Dave informed Meteorologist Drew Michaels that the roses he was carrying were not for Drew, Dave assumed the classic proposal position -- bended knee -- and popped the question. Cheryl gave the classic answer, a tearful yes, before an audience of thousands of Hometown News viewers.

The newscast, anchored by Jennifer Haile and Michaels, airs Monday through Friday at 5:30 to 7:00 a.m. on 40/29 Your Hometown News, Fort Smith/Fayetteville.
