Clear Channel or Equity? Which Will Be the New CW?

A number of blog readers have e-mailed in wonder which station in the Little Rock market will be the newly formed CW Network. Will it be KASN- 38 owned by Clear Channel OR Equity's KWBF?

If Clear Channel wants it they'll get it. Equity may have some investment bankers behind them but CC Corp. spends more on their electricity bills each year! Bank on it!

"The CW" is not a catchy name at all. When I saw CW, I thought "Country/Western." Hopefully they'll change the name.

I actually hope ClearChannel gets CW in Little Rock, because WB42 is horrible. The audio/visual quality, even on DirecTV, is very weak compared to UPN38. In many areas outside of a 50 mile radius from Little Rock, people cannot even pick up channel 42 without cable, but 38 comes in quite clear on n old-fashioned antenna. I'm not a big fan of ClearChannel in general, but in Little Rock, it is a FAR better choice than Equity.

What channel has more cable systems? I suspect Channel 38 will get it. KASN has been the UPN station since UPN's inception.

KASN's signal does not fail everytime that a big thunderstorm hits the area. If the folks behind the CW are smart, they should take KASN over KWBF.

I wonder what Equity is going to do when the WB is gone?

At least they didn't call it the WC (water closet)

One more thing everyone is overlooking. KASN broadcasts a High Definition (HD) signal, FULL Power. Something KATV doens't do and KARK still has under construction. The CW would be damn stupid to give its affiliation to Equity/Ch 42.

Probally two things. Move RTN to Ch 42 or move current Univision programming (currently on LPTV ch 58) to 42. If they manage to put a usuable digital signal, they could mulitcast them (HD wouldn't matter with those two channels).
