KARK Expanding Sports Coverage, Not Ditching It

KARK must have been on a PR blitz today. Arkansas Business.com has more about the Razorback Nation feature shared between KNWA and KARK. According to Nexstar exec Brian Jones, "The concept of the news segment is to combine the two stations’ sports efforts to provide viewers with “the state’s most comprehensive Razorbacks coverage."

KARK Assistant News Director Jeff Whatley told the business publication a fiber optic line is being installed so the two stations can share video and resources more freely. This will the stations to go live without having to use a satellite truck.

Jones added this at the very end of the article: "“Maybe people can now see that the rumors about us getting rid of our sports department were a little ridiculous.”
