Where Are They Now

John Champion is in today's "Where are they now" spotlight.

He attended Western Kentucky University earning a degree in meteorology and broadcasting. He served as the weekend meteorologist for WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 1992-93. In 1994, he joined the weather staff of NBC affiliate KARK-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas.

While there, John became a Member of the National Weather Association in 1996, and anchored and reported during one of the worst tornado outbreaks in Arkansas history during March 1997. He also co-anchored KARK's non-stop five-hour coverage of an unusually strong winter tornado outbreak in January 1999.

What's John doing now? The Mayfield, KY native is 'The Weather Authority' on duty for NewsChannel 6 Sunrise and Today at WPSD-TV, Paducah, Kentucky.
