Station Execs React To Ratings
The May 2005 numbers are still making news.

“It’d be hard for those numbers to be any closer,” said Larry Audas, general manager at KTHV. “The big thing for us is that we improved from the last book, not so much the fact that we’re virtually tied. Sure, you’d like to have a large lead at 10 p.m., but it’s also good to know you’re in the game.”
Meanwhile KATV News Director Randy Dixon

“At least for us, the headline is that ABC as a network is a distant No. 2 in prime time,” he said. “You know, a lot has to do with lead-in, but we go from a distant No. 2 in prime time to the top. We go from a 6 rating to an 11 rating.”
And Dixon commented about the recent change to the station's morning program:
“Anytime you make a change, especially a big change, there’s going to be some positive and negative reaction,” said Dixon. “Obviously we want it to be No. 1, and that’s our long-term plan.”
