Well, Bob Griffin is on the job.

Poor Bob will need a break on the weekend so they'll be bringing in Orville the alligator and Wilbur the rabbit...........

They'll have to hire a paramedic on standby for poor ol' Griffin. During breaks, they'll have to resucitate with electroshock: CLEAR! ZAAAAPPPP!!! Uh...ok..well here's what's happening in Sports ....

Seems like every sportscaster I've ever met in person or gotten to know on some basis has an over-heightened sense of self. I think the clinical term is megalomania.

What's the term used for folks who anonymously post less-than stellar things about others on boards?

Unless that's a rhetorical question, why don't you tell us?

1:36 AM, why won't you answer?

Must've been a rhetorical question.

Tim who?

What's the deal with KTBS? I watched the midday news today and the anchors, Eric and that new girl, were terrible. They are good looking but their voices are terrible.

Both of them are young and their voices have not matured. They need to go to a voice coach or take some more voice and diction classes.

I agree with the previous comment. They do need professional voice training. They sound like teenagers on a take you kid to work day. Not like professional broadcasters.

What do you expect? Their hiring people with little or no experience.

Probably their first or second TV job. And they are probably scared sh__tless because of all the bad morale seeping through the building.
It's contagious.

Yep, those two are in their first and second broadcasting job. They may be ok as reporters, but they are not ready to anchor.

She still needs voice lessons. Her voice is that of a 15 year old.

I see what everyone is talking about. I am watching the Midday right now and it's not working. Their voices do not sound like professional broadcasters. They are very stiff and clearly not comfortable working together.

Judging from the resume and the on-air performance, I'd say there's about 1 yr of experience 10 times.

Their speech is fine. They just need more voice training.

Time for KTBS to get a new website hamster. Fletch is still on Meet the Team, and Wendi is not. If you can take down Chris and Rhonda's bios the same day you fire them, then you can fix this. Lets get it together people.

Has traffic changed to allow competitors to run back to back in the same break? I am watching the Midday and Interstate Wholesale Furniture and Creamer's Furniture spots ran together back to back. I can see putting on first position and one in last position. Not back to back.

Unless clients raise hell, it'll fly.
As far as prime news is concerned.. I'm amazed at the number of car dealers in the same block, often back-to-back. I don't think there's any exclusivity anymore, unless there's a higher rate but you know how ad buyers are. ;)

At 1:27 PM, April 03, 2013, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just curious. My how times have changed. When I worked in traffic that was a MAJOR no no. I know primetime doesn't have enough inventory so that's ok. At least try to put some pad between them. I know they still don't run Rountree Ford and Wray Ford spots in the same break. Just like they don't run McDonald's and Wendy's spots in the same break.

The only concern that KTBS mgrs have is that no spots get bumped and everything runs so as to avoid any make-goods or adjusted invoices.
That and that Edwin gets to play with his guns in the office.

I can not express how nice it is not having to deal with that any more. And those phone calls all hours of the night looking for missing traffic.
