Shreveport Station Has No Luck With Lottery

This from a tipster:

The Louisiana Lottery recently left KTAL and returned to their original station KTBS/KPXJ. Three weeks in and KPXJ is having daily problems airing the show.

So the "station of the year" can't air the lottery properly?

Funny how everyone blamed KTAL for all the problems. Calling the lottery office and putting the blame on the station. Doesn't look to be the case! Funny how things come full circle, guess folks need to blame KTBS since the problems continue to happen.

KTAL should be grateful they don't have to deal with the lottery any more. It's a pain and I wish we didn't have it.

Another made-in-Loozianna moment.

HA, LMAO 3:17! I don't understand why KPXJ messes up the actual show, but the recorded re-feed on KTBS is fine. Maybe they should have an extra people in the control room just for the lottery.

This thread seems to have helped. Since it went up KPXJ started airing the lottery correctly.

Well if you consider hot punching and clipping "correct" then yes they are. But your right, they have gotten better since since this thread went up.

What does the lottery pay to air the drawing?

Could the problem be with master control? They just missed a commercial break in this UCLA game, and ran it late covering network and the next play of the game.

It's plausible. That may have been the problem over at KTAL. At least KTBS/KPXj has their master control here in Shreveport. Not run from a station in another state 4 hours away.

Looks like someone at KTBS read this thread. A few days after this thread was posted they got it together and stopped messing up every day.

@5:35 PM

The answer is no. Master control is not to blame. Before my job was outsourced to KARK in Little Rock, and I was laid off from KTAL, I aired the lottery feed Monday-Friday. I can tell you from experience the live feed from LPB in Baton Rouge was messed up a lot.

Probably someone's brother-in-law has the La. Lottery signal feed contract to the satellite or whatever. Could be running it to LPB for uplink for all we know.

The lottery feed for Louisiana comes from LPB in Baton Rouge. The problem is the signal between Florida and Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge here.
