New News Director Named at KATV
Arkansas Business.com reports Nick Genty has been named News Director at KATV. Gentry joined KATV as Assistant ND earlier this year from KTHV.

Nick, congratulations! This should have been done a long time ago - a former THV fellow co-worker!
He was such a laid back manager. He was also never rude to reporters and producers like other managers. Some managers are rude. I'm sure you all know who I'm referring to. I'm happy for him. Wish him the best.

I worked with Nick for 14 years, you would be hard pressed to find someone more knowledgeable, capable, or level headed around this market. That being said; we miss messing with him. Congrats Nick!
I heard atleast half of the 11 newsroom is trying to get over to nick. not because he's fishing for them but because they hate who they are left with. should be interesting in the months to come.

Not 1 negative comment about Nick - what does that say about 11 losing him? Congrat Nick - THV made a HUGE error by letting you walk out the door.
Channel 7 did not take THV employees, they went looking for a better work place and found it.
I don't think its over either.

Nick has been in the business long enough to know how a successful station is suppose to run. He now has the opportunity to make those decisions and I hear he's hitting the ground running.
Sad his biggest competition is his former station... he knows all their flaws and THVs news director doesn't lead a thing or person. No comparison.
Nick and KATV definitely have the advantage and they're working hard.
Why didn't THV make Nick the need direct 4 years ago?
It cannot have effect in actual fact, that is what I think.
It can't work in reality, that is exactly what I suppose.
