Shreveport Mets on the Move

This from a tipster: KTBS will lose met Marcy Novak this week. She is moving to Montgomery to work at the CBS station there.

AND... Turns out Ed Duranczyk (left KTAL) turned up as fill-in meterologist at KALB, Alexandria, LAhttp://www.kalb.com/Global/story.asp?S=12662898

KTBS is losing people like crazy!! In the past six months, they have lost three reporters, an anchor, a photog, a producer and now a meteorologist.
Just sayin'

KTAL-Nexstar isn't known for paying their people anything. I mean seriously...a guy I know who was let go at KTBS went there to look for a job, anything...part-time even. The guy he spoke with there told him that he was looking for another job 'cuz the pay was sooo bad and the job/hours sucked.

So my friend said, screw it...he'd work for Domino's Pizza or WalMart first. True story.

KTBS...folks probably tired of double-duty/single-pay. Someone told me that one of the anchor-reporters quit because she would have to shoot/edit her own stories and she just wasn't going to have none of that. So she quit & left the same day.
Guess she and the others who left didn't share the same "vision" as the gm.
KTBS = More Work for Less Pay.

Marcy left free will as her and her husband found jobs in Montgomery, Alabama. Get real people, KTBS rocks!

Not many people are sad to see Marcy go. Right after she takes THREE WEEKS off for her wedding, she makes Christmas Eve her last day!! She didn't seem to care that she already promised Joe Haynes that she would work for him while he spent Christmas up north with his dying father-in-law. Not to mention all the money he spent on plane tickets. He will now have to spend Christmas away from his wife and son.. while they go up north without him. It's very sad!! She lied to everyone saying she has to move on Christmas Day, when the moving truck won't be there until Monday. Hopefully Montgomery knows what they are getting!!

I have a new look on Marcy after reading that last post. She seems like a mean person.

Congrats to Marcy and her husband. The grass IS greener over on this side!
Change happens, good or bad. Get over it. Hit sappens! Suck it up and pay your dues.
So sorry you dont understand this. But you have to pack before you can move. We're not all high-fa-lootin', and get our way all the time and are able to pay people do things for us. Stop hatin' b/c she's making her life better. It's a free country.

Merry Christmas Eveybody!!!!

You know, not everyone can "dance" with an advertiser to get a good schedule. Congratulations to Marcy for moving on and getting a better life. Last time I checked, it was the responsibility of the station to honor vacation requests that were already granted!

Marcy is a brat. If you make a promise to a fellow coworker, honor it!

wow!!! no comment on the Marcy leaving issue except that I wish her all the best and I will really miss her!! And, I just wanted to throw it out there that anyone who is currently in the broadcasting business shouldn't have expected high paying jobs...we're not doctors or anything..it's just news...as much as I enjoy it I came in knowing it wouldn't pay a lot but it is a job to be thankful for and it's what I love to do!

Congratulations Marcy!! The haters can say whatever they
Want, but YOU get the last laugh because you're finally FREE!
Now, some of the others will get a taste of what
"Real work" is all about!!

Rumor has it that more cuts at KTBS are coming up after New Year.
Hope folks are looking out for themselves as it looks as though mngmnt is trying to inflate quarterly profits by cutting overhead (again). Some concerned folks had a sit-down with Wray(s) and they don't seem concerned with things, just make money.
Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger passing on what I heard from some folks close to the source(s).

That is true about more cuts, except they're cutting the veterans with experience to hire MMJ's. Just look at the jobs page. Actually, don't. I don't want that station that doesn't know how to treat people to benefit from 'hits'.
And karma is wonderful to see to the bitter little female meteorologist left there...who is the same person that didn't care that she is the reason why a more professional meteorologist (MR) is gone! Maybe now you just might realize the horrible schedule Marcy had.

"Marcy is a brat. If you make a promise to a fellow coworker, honor it!"

Were you there when the alleged promise was made?

MR was a suit wearing professional. Can that be truthfully said about his tight-sweater, hip-hugger (crotch dusting) pant wearing replacement?

I worked with Marcy. She was very nice.

Give her a break! She had a grueling schedule.. weekend Meteorologist, Fill-ins when people like Joe didn't want to come to work, plus she was thrown out on the streets to report when nobody else would. The sad part about it is the fact that she most likely made pennies, I would imagine 20k/yr. That's not very much at all. I server at ihop makes that.

So, considering Marcy arrived at the station at 3, worked until afternoon... then would come back sometimes to fill-in for Joe 5, 6, and 10 the same day, poor Joe my ***. give the woman a break! I'd pack up and leave too. Good riddens to Shreveport and the militant management at KTBS.

Geez... working airshift at KTBS makes working at the Post Office sound great!! Come to think of it, working anywhere else sounds better for that matter.

At 12:47 AM, January 06, 2011, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Working that shift made her a bitter person, and expressed her frustration to everyone under the sun, at an unbearable level.

The work slogan must be:
"At KTBS, you're not just an employee, you're a depreciable asset."

At 9:15 AM, January 06, 2011, Anonymous Anonymous said...

want to clear something up here. there has NEVER been an instance where, "Joe didn't want to come to work," as, who was it? oh, yeah, "Anonymous" said. I liked Marcy and enjoyed working with her as well... but to paint Joe Haynes with any description other than, "hard-working,team player," would be horribly inaccurate.

Tim Fletcher (worked with Joe for the past 10 years)

At 3:45 AM, January 07, 2011, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree.. Joe is a very nice guy and is an excellent meteorologist.

This was not meant as an attack against Joe. I was simply responding to what a previous 'anonymous' said of how Marcy was so bad that she would make Joe come back and do the weather when he had things going on in his life(as if Marcy did not have anything going on in her life).

There are many good people that work at KTBS. Joe, Marcy, Sherry, and even you Tim Fletcher!

It's just that Marcy has helped the station out alot over the years and it is equally unfair to paint a bad picture of her.
