KTVE Promotes Met

From a tipster: KTVE in West Monroe, LA has announced that it has promoted JarodFloyd to Chief Meteorologist. The announcement came three weeks after longtime Chief Meteorologist Tom Pearson left to join rival station KNOE.

Floyd joined KTVE in May 2006 as the morning meteorologist.

What a joke. KTVE has always been the number three station in a two station market. Some things will never change. KNOE's huge ratings will only get bigger. KTVE is always looking for the cheap route and it appears they have done it again. Let's depend on a 23 year old recent graduate for his expertise in weather. I guess that is what they get for putting Mr. Kamm in charge. By the way, has he gone to trial yet for fighting with his neighbor.

How do you know how old he is?

I think he does a pretty good job.

What an idiot. You can't be number three in a two station market. As for Jarod Floyd, he sure has expertise when it comes to forecasting the weather. Two years experience, AMS, NWS, etc. The reason KTVE let Tom Pearson go is simple. The guy was there for 14 years and the ratings never went up. Since Mr. Kamm arrived, the 5pm news on KTVE is up 70-percent. The 6pm news is up 20-percent. The 10pm news is up 30-percent. That's ratings share and numbers don't lie. The guy's a news genious. (and a great anchor) Trust me, he knows talent, and when to get rid of the talentless.
By the way, Mr. Kamm supposedly argued with his neighbor, but that's not a crime. The case has been dropped. It's hard to prosecute a disagreement. By the way, you may be interested to know the officer involved has been suspended for his poor judgement and Mr. Kamm has recieved a written apology.

This first comment is ridiculous.

I went to college with Jarod. He is a great guy. When I read the comment, I decided to call him because I figured he'd get a kick out of it (which he did). He had nothing bad to say about the commenter, KNOE, or Tom Pearson. However, he did get very defensive of his boss.

I don't want to go into a lot of detail about what he said, but he had nothing but good things to say about Mr. Kamm. He said that everything that Kamm has touched since he's been at KTVE has improved... on-air talent, news production, and the news product in general. He also added that to attack a guy personally is "bogus and absurd."

He added that KTVE's ratings have improved drastically in his two year stint at the station.

He also made me laugh, because he said for someone to attack his expertise, that's fine because his work speaks for itself... but, at least get his age right.

Mr. Kamm a "news genious" that is funny. You should take your act on the road. I bet the five other stations he got fired from think he is a "news genious" also.
