Fox 24 Cancelled?
This from an e-mailer: "It appears Fox24 KFTA has cancelled their 9pm newscast. As of Dec 20 at 9:20 the station was still running NBC programming."

Their may have a glitch in their programming systems.Their usually run gerlado after the news.
Cable problems? Seems strange to cancel a newscast in the middle of the week. I'd be interested to know if it was back on tonight?
I saw it every day this week....it was not cancelled.
"The place for more...FOX 24"...I can't get that stupid promo song out of my head. I'm gonna puke!
The show was on tonight, and they just hired a new reporter. Get your facts straight before spread rumors.
However, I tried to watch Geraldo and the end of the show seemed to be preempted by weather and countless Fox24 commercials. What's up with that nonsense?
The technical problems they experience are ridiculous!
I watched Fox 24 all week too.
I thought this place might be a good source of information, but now I see it is turning into a trollfest!

The amount of wrong information that goes out on this board is absolutly staggering. I have known numerous occasions where I knew the real story and everyting being said on this blog was just plain wrong. Just remember, anything posted on this blog either by the moderator or posters is nothing but hearsay and rumor and not subject to any kind of fact checking. Or generally any common sense either.
it doesn't really matter. according to the nov. book, absolutely no one of any age watched their 9 p.m. news.
FACT: if tony was hired to work for Fox and he can do some good work he can put "Fox 24" on the map.
(The thing is you did not hire him) and tony could have help you.
fox had only been on air 3-4 months when the #'s came out

I actually find this blog to be funny. I give it no credit but what I do get out of it is a break from reality. I've come to the conclusion to assume if it's on here it's all made up and wait for someone to prove that it's the truth. Dear blog manager, if you do start checking the sources of stories that do go on here please let us know in advance so I can prepare to change my opinion of what's on here on the front end. What I've seen on numbers that 9pm newscasts did 1's to start, which is as good as the old NBC KPOM ever did in Fort Smith. Couple months old...have to wait and see. I know hat the Fox station in Little Rock has been slowly growing over it's young life. Will it ever be the #1 newscast, of course not but it and all other Fox casts are designed to be "something diferent" for a non-traditional viewer.
It was on NBC programming on Cox cable this week instead of the Fox @ 9 News.
Why promote a Newscast if you don't plan on doing it? If it was an extended technical glitch...someone should be fired. There wasn't any Geraldo this week either; not that I miss that goon, but if you're gonna "take over an affliate" at least run Fox content instead of NBC.
I'm surprised any one noticed they stopped doing newscasts this week.
After all, they pulled a "0" rating in the November book. That's Z-E-R-O.
I watched it all this week. Are you all who say it was off the air, really watching fox or NBC?
It was Fox24, but NBC, no Fox news at 9, I saw it too and thought it was odd. Maybe it was just over Cox Cable?
I think they missed one day. i know i've seen it several times this week on cox cable.
It was a technical glitch that caused them not to be on the air.
Oh my I'm defending Fox but it didn't do Zero...it did 1's.
I've seen the book. 0.3 rounds down to 0.
Cox glitches out sometimes.. I know when THE DAILY BUZZ was on before at 5am south side of Fort Smith would get it when the north side of Fort Smith got a church service. Never figured that out but...... who knows....Keep seeing commercials for talk show out of Little Rock that came on at 11pm on Friday nights but not on....(unreliabel source)
Personally I really don't like this new station. I miss being able to watch NBC. I see nothing I like about the new Fox 24. And that song. That would drive a sane person to suicide. NBC needs to step back in. Merry Christmas Everyone.

If you live in the River Valley and don't have cable, there is no longer an NBC.
Fox 24 has the best-looking newscast in the market. And more folks will see with Idol and 24 lead-ins in first quarter!
Lead-ins are what gets the audience to sample. Once the sampling occurs then it's time to put up or shut up. I bet the numbers continue to grow. By the way to the poster that doen't have cable.....wake up and join us in the real world. Go to any large market and several stations are now just on cable and satellite. You obviously have a computer how about a little cable you tight wad.

i know that it doesn't matter. what about their Razorbacks coverage? Any one else send a reporter down to hang with the Hawgs in Disney World?
All that emphasis on sports didn't help them in November.

What emphasis are you talking about? I think you're talking about KNWA not Fox. Fox's coverage was very close with that of KHBS and KFSM.

regardless, I heard Fox posted a couple numbers in November which isn't too shabby considering the station didn't launch til Sep
There still better numbers after a few short months then the old Fox ever had. KFSM did very well but KHBS got smashed. KFSM continues to dominate in Ft. Smith and say what you want but KNWA is making progress up north. Get rid of tech issues and they could get even stronger. Big "IF"!!
Fox is not Fox. It's a sligtly differnt veresion of KNWA. I've seen Aaron Peters on there, Matt Turner achored, Alex Flippin reports, Bo Mattingly is live from wherever the hogs are. This is not a tv station. It's another channel of KNWA that has a different set.It ain't working.
