Hogs' Helmets Initialed for Eells

Source: Whole Hog Sports Along with the Razorback on the side, Arkansas’ helmets will have the letters “P. E.” on them this season in memory of Paul Eells.

Eells, who died July 31 in a car accident, was the Razorbacks’ play-by-play announcer the previous 28 seasons. He also was host of the football and basketball coaches shows during that span.

Arkansas Coach Houston Nutt said the day after Eells died that he would be honored by the team this season, and it was decided having his initials on the Razorbacks’ helmets is the most appropriate way.

“Somebody that special, somebody as dear to the program as Paul Eells, you want to do something to remember him,” Nutt said. “To represent Paul Eells in just a small way means a lot.
