David Hershey is in the 'Where are they now' spotlight.
David is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He began his TV career in Memphis, Tennessee at Germantown High School under the guidance of Frank Bluestein; his instructor and eventual life-long mentor. There, as a student, David was appointed General Manager of the school's cable access TV station.
After graduating high school in 1987, David attended college at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. In his first week there, David was hired at KAIT-TV (abc) from work in high school. In his 5 years at KAIT, he was promoted several times; working 3 years as a News Reporter-Photographer and then eventually as the station's Promotion Manager...the youngest ever at age 21.
David received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from ASU in 1991 and was also named the Arkansas Associated Press Student Scholar of the Year for 1990.
In 1993, he was named Promotion Manager for KATV (abc) in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1998, he was promoted to Director of Promotion for WJLA-TV (abc) in Washington, DC.
What's David doing now? He is the Director of Creative Services for CBS 11 and UPN 21, KTVT/KTXA, Dallas/Fort Worth. He is responsible for the promotion and marketing of each station as well as the creative look of each.
